  After nine years of poor health and suffering of dropsy, Mr. John Schumacher passed from his earthly home to the portals of that Great Beyond, at 1:30 o'clock on Sunday morning. For seven years he was unable to sleep in a bed and a resting place for the night was a large arm chair. Mr. Schumacher was born in Germany on June 24, 1850. e came to America in 1875 locating at Oshkosh. He made his home there and later he moved to Fond du Lac and then to Charlesburg. In 1900 he came with his family to the farm in the town of Woodville where he lived until last year, when they moved to our village making their home with their daughter, Mrs. F. Benschawel of this village. Math, who resides on the farm and John of St. John, are left surviving to mourn his death. The funeral was held from St. Mary's Church on Tuesday morning, Rev. M. Oswald conducting the services. About ninety-three friends and relatives from out of town attended the funeral. Hilbert Favorite – August 3, 1911
