  Other Info or Events	Unknown source The youngest son, Thomas, in a letter written in 1893 to the author, speaks of his childhood days in Kaukauna, saying: I remember of seeing a frozen sturgeon six feet long, said to have been caught in Lake Winnebago. I remember the thunder bugs crawling up out of the river in the spring and hiding under stones. My brothers would turn over the stones so that our pigs could eat them. Some would get the pigs by the nose with their horned pincers and make them squeal, which was fun for us boys. We came from Buffalo to Green Bay on a sailing vessel. After my father's death my mother and we children were taken to Green Bay by the Indians in a birch bark canoe down over the rapids. There were seven sons and four daughters born to Rev. Jesse Miner and his wife, some of whom died in infancy. One son, Eliphalet B. Miner, became a prominent citizen of Grand Rapids and Necedah, Wisconsin, engaged in the lumber and mercantile business. He was a member of the assembly in 1865 and the state senate in 1871. He died February 14, 1890.
