  Richard C. Hoffmann, age 62, of Thorson Road, Hortonville (formerly of Clintonville), passed away Sunday, September 2, 2007, at his home. Richard Charles Hoffmann was born on April 1, 1945, in Clintonville to Henry and Jeannette (Schulz) Hoffmann. After graduating from Clintonville High School in 1963, Richard went on to complete Vocational Barber School in Green Bay. He was united in marriage on November 13, 1965, to Patricia A. VanTreeck at St. George Catholic Church in Sheboygan Falls. Richard served our country stateside in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, from 1965-67. After the military, he worked for Earl Arndt as a barber for several years in Clintonville. Richard then went on to work for Miller Electric in Appleton, where he was affectionately known as "Hector". He did assembly and production there for over 33 years, retiring in 2006. His memberships include the American Legion Post in Appleton, and Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London. Richard is a former member of St. Therese in Appleton, St. Peter & Paul in Hortonville, and St. Rose in Clintonville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling, especially trips made to the state of Maine. Richard will be remembered most for helping out family members with all sorts of home projects. Survivors include his wife, Patricia, and three children: Victoria (Michael) Koppa of Viroqua, WI; Todd (special friend Emily) Hoffmann of Neenah; and Ryan (Jessica) Hoffmann of Forest Park, Ill. There are five grandchildren: Johannes "John," Zachary, Katrina, Beatrix, and Oliver. There are four sisters and a brother: Gereldine Rulseh of Brillion; Joanne (James) Bartz of Shawano; Margaret (John Paul) Jones of Fountain Hills, Ariz.; Donald (Gale) Hoffmann of Clintonville; and Kathy (Butch) Donaldson of Clintonville. He's further survived by nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Peter, and a brother-in-law, Douglas Rulseh. The family wishes to thank all the doctors, nurses and support staff that took care of Richard in the ER at New London Family Medical Center, the nurses with ThedaCare Hospice, all the staff at Theda Clark Medical Center, and the special team in the Aylward Surgery Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 7th at noon at St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville. Fr. Benjamin Sember will officiate and burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Military honors will be provided at the cemetery by members of the American Legion Post 63 and VFW Post 664, both of Clintonville. Friends may call on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of the mass at the church only. The Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville, is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, the family would like everyone to become a blood donor. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society, Marquette University, or the Maryknoll Missions.
