  WEDDINGS Miss Dorothy R. Allen, daughter of Mrs. Lillian Allen, who formerly lived in Appleton. and J. Douglas Bond, son of Dr. and Mrs. Benjamin Bond, Kohala, Hawaii, were married Tuesday, Sept. 5 at the home of Mrs. Hannah Sylvester, Santa Barbara, Calif., according to word received here. The only attendant was Miss Sarah Sylvester. Mrs. Lillian Allen was a prominent member of the Appleton P. E. O. Sisterhood when she lived here. She moved to Cincinnati and was unable to accompany her daughter to Santa Barabara where Miss Allen was married to Mr. Bond. Mrs. Sylvester is a close friend of Mrs. Allen, is also well known in Appleton. She is the widow of Prof. John Sylvester, who was director of Lawrence Conservatory of Music for 25 years. When it was learned that the bridegroom could not obtain sufficient leave to go to Cincinnati to claim his bride. Mrs. Allen sent her daughter to be married at the home of her close friend. Mr. and Mrs. Bond spent a week of their honeymoon in San Francisco, and sailed for Honolulu Sept. 17 on the S. S. Maui. Tuesday Evening, September 16, 1924 APPLETON POST-CRESCENT Page Five
