  Dean L. Ernst, age 57, of Appleton, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born on December 12, 1957 in Appleton to the late Donald and Helen (Taves) Ernst. On October 9, 1982, he was united in marriage to Lori Lambie. He graduated from Appleton High School East in 1976, where he was involved in football, basketball and track. He was employed by Neenah Paper Co. for nearly 38 years. Dean enjoyed good music and had a great knowledge of artists and their music. He loved trains and always had a desire to be an engineer, but he loved doing things with his son and daughter most of all. He is survived by his wife Lori, daughter Sarah and son Dan, his sister and brother in law, Karen (John) Hanamann and sister in law and brother in law, Ginny (Dan) Koeppl. He is further survived by nieces, nephew, cousins as well as other family and good friends. Dean is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. A funeral service for Dean will be held at 6:00pm, Monday, June 15, 2015 at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond St Appleton, with Pastor Mike Huff officiating. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 3:00pm until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dean's name may be made to The National Railroad Museum of Green Bay.
