  Dr. Dennis Lane Tank, age 74, of Oxnard, California, died Monday, December 28, 2015. He was born on March 20, 1941, to Clarence Warren Tank and Evelyn Ruth (Thiel) Tank, in Appleton, Wisconsin. Dennis attended the University of Michigan School of Dentistry where he graduated in 1966. His adult years were split between Northern and Southern California where he was a respected family dentist and member of the communities in which he lived. Dennis was a devoted father and husband as well as an accomplished athlete, pilot, and boater. Quick with a smile and easy to laugh his generosity toward all was apparent and unflagging. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Tank, in February of 2010. Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Ilda Tank; his mother, Evelyn Tank; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Don Rippy; as well as five children, Lane Tank, Liz Sanchez, Scott Tank, Annette Haydn-Myer, and Ildmar Tank; and eleven grandchildren, Trey, Liberty, Christopher, Ally, Corinne, Ashley, Luke, Caleb, Madison, Blake, and Kayla. A viewing will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura, CA 93003. Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, January 9, 2016, 10:00 am, at the First United Methodist Church, 1338 East Santa Clara, in Ventura, CA 93001. Burial will follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Road, Ventura, CA. A reception will follow the graveside service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home.
