  Tennessen, James W.James W. Tennessen, Menasha, age 80, passed away following a courageous ba ttle with cancer on Sunday evening July 16, 2006, at his home with his fam ily by his side. Jim was born December 12, 1925, in Kaukauna, the son of t he late Antone and Martha (Balck) Tennessen. Jim married Gladys Kobuss en on October 25, 1947, at St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute. Jim s erved his country in the U.S. Army. He was a self-employed businessman.Jim was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Menasha. He enjoyed fishin g, hunting and he was an avid card player. He was a past president of t he Menasha School Board, a member of the Nicolet Council Knights of Columb us #1838 and the American Legion Post #0436.Jim is survived by his wife, Gladys, his children: Tim Tennessen, Washingt on; Mark (Sue) Tennessen, Appleton; Mary (Jim) McFarland, Iron River and S uzie (Mike) Reiter, Neenah. He is also survived by his seven grandchildre n: Lea Anne (Scott) Hoelzel, Sarah (Jamin) Bowen, Matthew (Kati) Reiter, E rik Reiter, Jessica (Justin) McClure, Jacob (fiancee' Katie) Tennessen a nd Andrew Tennessen, five great-grandchildren: Kiela, Jarik, Jaina, Lev i, Samara and a baby to come. He is also survived by his brother, Robert ( Lillian) Tennessen of Little Chute, and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his brother, Art Tennessen and his sister-in-l aw, Eileen Tennessen.Memorial services for Jim will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2006, 6 p. m. at Laemmrich Funeral Home, 312 Milwaukee Street, Menasha. Family and fr iends will be received on Thursday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until t he hour of service. Following the services a luncheon will be held at Bria rwood Cottages in Menasha.
