  Miss Janet N. Strathearn, 86, of 2005 Division St., Manitowoc, died Sunday morning, August 30. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Phipps Memorial Chapel, Manitowoc. The Rev. William Plank will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Miss Strathearn was born June 11, 1895, at Kaukauna, Wis., daughter of the late John and Sophia Nelson Strathearn. She attended Kaukauna Public Schools and Lawrence University, graduating in 1917. She taught high school English at Ripon, Wis., and Akron, Ohio, moving to Manitowoc in 1921. She taught English at Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, until her retirement in 1955??. Miss Strathearn was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Manitowoc Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and very active in Masquers Theater. She was a charter member of Manitowoc Chapter of American Association of University Women. Survivors include a niece, Mrs. Earl (Jean) Verkins? of ppleson (sic). She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Friends may all at Phipps Memorial Chapel Tuesday from noon until the time of services. The casket will remain closed. A memorial has been established in her name. There will be no visitation at the funeral home this Monday evening. Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is in charge of arrangements.
