  Neale S. Payton, age 90 Shiocton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 26, 2015, at St. Joseph Residence, New London. He was born on January 1, 1925, in Shiocton, son of the late Sherman and Eva (Johnson) Payton. Neale grew up in Shiocton and graduated from Shiocton High School in 1943. He then enlisted in the US Army and served during WWII in the Philippine Islands. On June 17, 1972, Neale married Jean Thompson Immel at First Congregational Church, Shiocton. Neale worked in construction his entire life and was a member of Laborers Local 931. He was also a member of American Legion Post 512 and First Congregational Church, Shiocton. Neale loved hunting, fishing, bus traveling throughout the country, gardening and especially spending time with family and friends.He is survived by his wife Jean; children: Shirley (Greg) Popp; Richard (Nancy) Immel; Don Immel; Charlotte (Lorne) Williams and Steve Immel and sisters, Twila Wentzel and Dorothy Theede. He is further survived by 25, grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father in-law, Esther and Homer Thompson, son Larry Immel, daughter Tina Slempkes and a grandson Chris ScottFuneral services for Neale will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at First Congregational Church, Shiocton with Rev.
