  Van Offeren, Mary KaukaunaAge 89, died Sunday, August 25, 2002 at Cherry Meadows Hospice. She was bo rn June 26, 1913 in Little Chute; daughter of the late George and Annie (V an Schyndel) Heesakker. On May 28, 1938 Mary married Bill Van Offeren at S t. John's Catholic Church in Little Chute. The couple enjoyed 62 yea rs of marriage together prior to his death on August 13, 2000. Before h er retirement, Mary was employed at Wisconsin Bell Telephone Company. S he was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna.Survivors include three sons: William (Zella), Rice Lake; Joseph (Janet ), Sherwood; John (Barbara), Massachusetts; three daughters: Anne (Stev e) Staudenmeyer, Florida; Mary (Joe) Mayerl, Florida; Gretchen (John) Laus man, Freedom; 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; two sister s: Margaret Schwaller, Appleton; and Agnes Heesakker, Kimberly; two brothe rs: Lawrence (Bea) Heesakker, Kimberly; and Francis (Shirley) Heesakker, A ppleton; several nieces and nephews. She is further survived by four siste rs-in-law: Delia (Don) Grebe, New York; Dorothy (George) Morrow, Florid a; Bernice (Earl) Remen, Florida; Muriel (George) Van Offeren, Florida. Pr eceding her in death, besides her parents, were her husband Bill; sister s: Sr. Calista Heesakker, Josephine Mueller, Loretta Harp, Dorothy Mae Hee sakker. The in-laws preceding Mary in death were Robert Schwaller, Euge ne Harp, Joseph Mueller, Donald Grebe, Richard, George, John and Elizabe th Van Offeren, Mina De Wall, Bertha Koenig, Josephine Swenson and Catheri ne Van Offeren.Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Ch urch, 404 W. Lawrence St., Appleton with Fr. John Holly officiating. Frien ds may call directly at the church from 3 p.m. Thursday until the ti me of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been establish ed in her name. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna is assisting t he family.Mary was a loving wife and mother who devoted her life to her family. S he will be dearly missed by all who had the honor of being touched by h er keen wit, warm smile and endless giving of herself.The family extends very special and sincere thanks to Fr. John Holly, D r. Michael Johnson, Karen Gehlert and the nurses and staff at Cherry Meado ws Hospice for their thoughtful and caring help they gave to Mom.
