  Kaukauna Times 3/19/1910; KAUKAUNA ITEMS, "Miss Margaret McCARTY entertain ed most delightfully at a St. Patrick's'dinner Thursday evening. Twelve covers were laid. The rooms were profuse ly decorated with shamrocks cut out of green paper and were everywhere, st rung on curtains, tables and chandeliers, so it was truly verdant. Every g uest wore something emerald. In the center of the dining table was a pott ed shamrock surrounded by tiny Irish flags and scattered about were shamro ck leaves and at each plate was a large potato holding a green handle. Up on the arrival of the guests the gentlemen were given cards upon which we re character sketches representing different countries and the ladies we re given cards with the official flower of he countries and in this way th ey found their partners for dinner. the menu carried out the color sche me as far as possible. After dinner the evening was spent in singing "Wear in' O' the Green," "Kathleen Mavoureen," "Killarney," and everyone declar ed it had been a jolly evening.

  Mrs. G.J. Flanagan (Margaret McCarty), 215 Fillmore St., Kaukauna Age 82, passed away at 5 a.m. Thursday following a brief illness. She w as born April 27, 1892 in Kaukauna and had been a lifelong resident of t he area. Mrs. Flanagan was a graduate of Marquette School of Nursing, a nd was the wife of Dr. G.J. Flanagan who preceded her in death in Mar ch of 1957. She was a member of the Christian Mother's Society of Holy Cr oss Catholic Church. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. H.J. (Margar et Ann) Wright, Kansas City, Missouri, Mrs. W. L. (Joan) Licht, Phoenix, A rizona, and Mrs. Mary Alice Moore, Tampa, Florida; two sons, John J., Raci ne, and Patrick, Kimberly; 25 grandchildren. A son, David, preceded h er in death in October of 1972. Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. Saturday from Holy Cross Catholic Church at Kaukauna with a Concelebrat ed Mass officiated by Father Roy Crain. Father Bergstadt and Father Sholt en will assist. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may ca ll at the Fargo Funeral Home in Kaukauna after 4 p.m. Friday where the re will be a prayer service at 8 Friday evening.
