  Mrs. Clara Sprangers, 90, of Waldo, widow of Walter H., died at her home of a lingering illness late this morning. Mrs. Sprangers' late husband, who died in 1951, was a former Waldo postmaster. She was the mother of Miss Clare Sprangers, RN, Sheboygan County public health nurse director. Arrangements for services, being made at Wittkopp Funeral Home in Plymouth, will be announced Wednesday. SPRANGERS Mrs. Clara Sprangers, 90, Waldo, widow of Walter, former Waldo postmaster, died at her home Tuesday following a long illness. She was born April 10, 1879, the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Hoffmann, pioneer Town of Wilson residents. She attended St. George Catholic School, Town of Wilson, and St. Catherine's Academy in Racine. On Feb. 1, 1904, she was married to Walter H. Sprangers at St. George Church. She had lived in Waldo for over 53 years where her husband, who died in 1951, was postmaster for many years. Mrs. Sprangers was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, Town of Lima, the Christian Mothers Society, St. Luke's the Evangelist Good Samaritan Guild and a charter member of the Waldo chapter, Service Star Legion. Surviving are two sons, John, Watertown, and Walter, Milwaukee; four daughters, Miss Clare Sprangers, R.N., Sheboygan County health nurse director, Waldo, Mrs. Bernard (Catherine) Mueller, Plymouth, Mrs. James (Bernadine) Shannon, West Bend, and Mrs. William (Irene) Garvin, Waldo; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Raymond, Alois and Peter Hoffmann, all of Milwaukee. Preceding her in death were five brothers and a sister. Funeral services will be held Friday, at 10:15 a.m. at the Wittkopp Funeral Home, Plymouth, and 11 o'clock at St. George Church, Six Corners, with the Rev. Jerome Mersberger, a nephew of Mrs. Sprangers, who will be the celebrant of the requiem high Mass. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Thursday. The rosary vigil will be held at 8 o'clock Thursday evening for parish members and the Christian Mothers Society. The rosary will be led by the Rev. Richard Baer, pastor of St. George. A memorial service will be conducted by the Service Star Legion at the funeral home at 7 o ' c l o c k Thursday evening. Members are to meet at the funeral home at 6:45.
