  Vanevenhoven, Mary B. 109 Filmore Street, KaukaunaAge 84, died Saturday afternoon, January 18, 2003, at her home, followi ng a short illness. She was born May 11, 1918, to the late Martin and Nell ie (Coonen) Verbeten, in Kimberly and had been a Kaukauna resident a ll of her life. Mary had been employed by Kaukauna Klub Cheese, the Kaukau na Times and had volunteered with St. Vincent DePaul. She was very acti ve in her church, Holy Cross Catholic Church, where she participated in t he prayer chain and organized and managed the making of over 50,000 rosari es, which were sent to foreign countries, given to local prisons and to t he military. Mary was active as a prayer partner for children at Holy Cro ss preparing for First communion. She began the Hourly Devotion for vocati ons, which prayed for priest vocations. She also started Mission Sunday, w hich was an educational hour held on Sundays during Lent. She was extreme ly active in other facets and activities of her church and St. Mary Cathol ic Church, too numerous to mention. Mary was also a member of the Ladi es of the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include four sons and 3 daughters -in-law, David and Maureen, Redondo Beach, CA; Carl and Grace, White Lak e; Mark, Kaukauna: Alan and Mary, Kaukauna; six daughters and 4 sons-in-la w, Mary Ann and Peter Hull, Moreno Valley, CA; Janet Linet, Kaukauna; Patr icia Vanevenhoven, Los Angeles, CA; Helen and Gary Wendt, Flagstaff, AZ; R ose Ann and Jim Woloszyk, Elm Grove, WI; Rita and Anthony Gelling, Wyalon g, Australia; 13 grandchildren, Keith, Alan, Jr., Amy, Ann, Aaron, Meliss a, Celeste, Ryan, Courtney, Tyler, Evan, Nicholas and Simon; a great grand daughter, Taylor Ann. Mary is further survived by a brother, Jeff and Doro thy Verbeten, Kaukauna; two sisters, Sister Catherine Verbeten, Racine; Gr ace Kugler, Appleton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin O. V anevenhoven, April 26, 2000, a sister, Dorothy Marolf and a brother Robe rt Verbeten. The funeral liturgy for Mary will be held at 11:30 am Wednesd ay, January 22, 2003, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Stree t, with Father Jack Mullarkey officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Ce metery. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday, from 9 am until the t ime of the mass.
