  Walter Kappell, age 80, died Tuesday evening after a three week illness. He was born August 15, 1887 in Kaukauna where he resided his entire life. He operated a tavern in this city for over 40 years, until his retirement about 10 years ago. Mr. Kappell was a Past Governor of the Loyal Order of Moose, a member of the Kaukauna Golden Agers, and a member of St. Mary's Holy Name Society. Survivors include his wife, Bardine; two daughters, Mrs. Herman (Florence) Wolfgram, Appleton; Mrs. Eugene (Bernice) Peeters, Little Chute; four sons, Sylvester, Lawrence, Leo and Clifford, all of Kaukauna. He is also survived by 30 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are being held at 10 a.m. today at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Peter A. Salm officiating.
