  Bette J. Beschta, age 78, of Appleton, died Thursday, April 22, 2004 at Franciscan Care Center in Appleton. Bette was born April 30, 1925 in Appleton to the late Joseph S. and Lucille (Sorenson) Laux, and has lived in the Fox Valley all of her life. On December 29, 1945 Bette was united in marriage to Carlton Beschta, and the couple enjoyed 43 years together until his death in 1988. She was a member of the Appleton Fire Department Auxillary, the Catholic Daughters, and St. Joseph Catholic Church, Appleton. Bette was an excellent cook and crafts person. She will be sadly missed by her children: Bill (Pam) Beschta, Appleton; Kris (Jeff) Brockes, Rolla, MO.; Peter Beschta, Appleton; and Chuck (Linda) Beschta, Bonduel. There are eight grandchildren: Tina (Mark), Trisha (Mike), Todd (Laura), Tony (Suzann), Jaki, Rebecca, Jared, and Alexis. Great-grandchildren: Kristy, Megan, Stephen, Jayden, Landon, Alex, Ashley, and Jeffrey. She is also survived by her brother, James (Darlene) Laux, Hamilton, Montana. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, an infant son Joseph. Funeral Liturgy for Bette will be held 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 27th at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 404 W. Lawrence St., Appleton, with the Rev. Larry Abler officiating. Friends may call on Monday at the Brettschneider Trettin Lederer Funeral Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m., and directly at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her sister in law Marcie Beschta.
