  Mrs. Henry R. Hoffman (Mary A. Schneider) "Agnes" 1732 S. Mohawk Dr., Appleton Age 69, died suddenly at 1205 a.m. Thursday, September 12, 1991. She was born August 2, 1922 in Appleton, where she was a resident all of her life. Mary Agnes was very active in the music department of St. Mary Catholic Church where she played organ, was director of the Adult Choir, and director of Hand Bell choir for over 50 years. She also played the organ for other parishes in the Fox Valley for both funerals and weddings. Mary Agnes was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband, Henry R. Hoffmann, to whom she had been married 37 years; two daughters: Peggy (Margaret) Hoffmann-Chambers, Lincolnville, Maine; Cathy (Kate) Hoffmann, Appleton; a son, Michael Hoffmann, Appleton; and a granddaughter, Pearl Hoffmann. She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Mary Spiel (sic) Schneider; and a brother, Martin Schneider. The complete Mass of Resurrection will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 14, 1991 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 312 S. State St. with Father Michael K. O'Rourke officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St. from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday and on Saturday from 8 a.m. until the cortege leaves for the church. A prayer and scripture service will be held 7:45 p.m. Friday. A memorial fund is being established for the Music Ministry of St. Mary Catholic Church. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou are with me." Note that her Father Phillip Schneider was the son of John Schneider and Catherine Kuri. Phillip's brother was Michael Schneider, who married another "Speel." (He is living next door to Philip Kuri, who changed the surname to Curey. See 1930 US Census for John F Schneider in Menasha, Winnebago County, WI; his wife's name is misspelled.
