  Raymond J. Quella, of Appleton, passed away Friday evening, March 13, 2015, at the age of 86. Ray was born in Appleton on September 4th, 1928, to the late Joseph and Agnes (Hoffman) Quella. He worked at Valley Ready Mix (now MCC) from June 1953 to September 1993. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and spent 14 months in Korea. On May 19th, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Merrill. The couple has enjoyed 63 years together. Ray is survived by his wife, Marilyn, Appleton; son Bruce (friend Teresa) Quella, Larsen; grandson Ben (Jenny) Quella, Appleton; great-grandson Jacob Quella, Appleton; sister, Margie Kangas, Appleton; and sister-in-law, Elaine Quella, Appleton. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings Tom (Eunice) Quella, Ken (Millie) Quella, Richard Quella, Bill (Susie) Quella, Joan (Arnold) Reitzner, and Andrew "Bud" Kangas. A memorial service will take place at 10:30 am on Friday, March 20, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 414 W. Lawrence St. Appleton, with Father James Leary OFM CAP officiating, followed immediately by full military honors performed by Appleton Legion Post #38. Friends may visit from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel, and directly at the church on Friday from 9 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established
