  Hoefler, Edwin J., Sr., "Eddi e" Little ChuteAge 69 died Friday, September 5, 2003 at his home surrounded by his famil y. He was born March 2, 1934 in Little Chute son of Michael and Mary (DeBr uin) Hoefler. Edwin married Theresa Stanchik June 15, 1965 in Oshkosh. M r. Hoefler was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chu te. Eddie was an autobody mechanic for 43 years until his retirement. He w as a U.S. Army veteran who was drafted in 1956 and served through 1958. Ed die enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, camping, stockcar racing and G reen Bay Packers football. He was noted for his hum strummer playing and w as state champion.Eddie is survived by his wife, Theresa; five children; Rick Hoefler, Apple ton; Lisa (Nick) Bongean, Menasha; Ed (Amy) Hoefler, Jr., Appleton; Bradl ey (Tina) Hoefler, Little Chute; and Michael Hoefler, Combined Locks; sev en grandchildren: Lance Van Groll, Luke and Jacob Neubauer, April Schindle r, Kaitlyn Hoefler, Brandon and Tyler Hoefler; a brother Wenzel (Dolore s) Hoefler, Kaukauna; a sister, Ginny Samuels, Deleware; three brothers-in -law: Donald, Green Bay; Ronald, Menasha; and Ernie Stanchik, Amherst; eig ht sisters-in-law: Angeline Westphal, Suring; Irene Marquardt, Lake Tomaha wk; Frances Weibrecht and Gladys (Dusty) Weibrect both of Green Bay; Elan or (Martin) Firkus, Plover; Jean Topel, Green Bay; Barbara Kohlbach and Li nda (Pat) Gladowski both of Amherst; and numerous nieces, nephews, and oth er relatives.He was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Hoefler, nine brothers-in-l aw and four sisters-in-law.Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 10, 20 03 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna with Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Ho gen officiating. Military rite will be conducted following the mass by t he Jacob Coppus American Legion Post #258, Little Chute. Inurnment wi ll be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Friends may call from 8:30 a. m. Wednesday at the church until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers a m emorial has been established. Edwin's family wishes to thank Dr. Brian Ave ry and staff for their loving care and concern and those who assisted o ur family, especially Russ Schinke.
