  MRS. AUGUST MARTENS, 72 Funeral services were held at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning in St. Francis church for Mrs. August Martens, 72, who died late Saturday night at her home, 214 North Huron street. Rt. Rev. Msgr. Delgert W. Basche offered the requiem mass, and burial was in Mount Olivet cemetery. The coffey Funeral home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Martens had been ill for some time. She died six weeks after her husband, a well-known local carpenter and contractor. The former Minerva Campbell, she was born here April 2, 1879, and was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Campbell. She was a charter member of the Catholic Woman's club, and a member of the Altar society of St. Francis church. Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. C. L. Vincent of De Pere, Mrs. W. J. Schilling of Torrance, Pa., Catherine at home, and Mrs. E. W. Longlais of Green Bay; two sons, Norbert J. of San Francisco, and Gerald of Milwaukee; 11 grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Genevieve Crowley and Mrs. P. J. Powers of Benton Harbor, MI, Miss Margaret and Miss Helen Campbell and Mrs. L. S. Miller of Escanabe, MI; and four brothers, John and Edward of Duluth, Robert of Escanaba, and William Campbell of Kalmazoo, MI.
