  Age 77, New London, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at his residence. Fred was born on June 18, 1931 in Wausau, son of the late Frederick and Hilda (Uekert) Krause. Fred joined the Air Force at eighteen, after the Air Force, he went to college. He worked as a technical representative for various companies in foreign cities and settled in California. Fred became a test engineer on the space shuttle at Edwards Air Force Base, for Rockwell International. He retired in 1993; but continued to go back to work as a consultant for three months a year until 1998. He moved back to Wisconsin in 2003. Fred is survived by his wife, Nina (Rohloff) Krause. A son, Charles (Rebecca) Krause, Ozark MO. Four stepsons: Stephen (Tracy) Lazic, Manawa; Rob (Linda) Lazic, Oshkosh; Kerry (Carrie) Krake, Clintonville; Kevin (Stacey) Krake, Kaukauna. Two stepdaughters, Vicky Noak, (special friend Glen Taylor), Marion and Kim Moder, New London. Six sister-in-laws: Lois Krause, Gaithersburg, MD; Ann Rohloff, Clayton, IN; Bernice (Ed) Ellenbecker, New London; Deloris Freeman, Waupaca; Dorothy (Arlie Brock), Georgia; Pat (George) Jensen, Warden, WA. A brother-in-law, Fred Dahms, Arbor Vitae. Three grandson: Chris (Melissa) Krause, Eric Krause, and Gerald Travers. Three granddaughters: Jackie Krause, Johanna Krause and Deborah Travers. Ten step-grandchildren: Todd Noak, Jason Lazic, Tom Meyer, Drew Meyer, Brandon Shadduck, Chris (Lilybeth) Noak, Adam VanDenbogart, Felicia Lazic, Callie Krake, and Jessi Krake. He is further survived by a Aunt and cousins in Wausau. Besides his parents, Fred is preceded in death by his first wife, Jackie (Wills) Krause, three brothers: William Krause, David Krause and Charles Krause, a daughter, Sharon Krause, a granddaughter, Elizabeth Travers. Services for Fred will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London with Rev. Daniel Burns officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Special thanks to Rev. Daniel Burns, Hospice, Pete Koleske, Sandy Schweitzer, Pete Schweitzer, Jeff Schweitzer, Don Larson and Dave and Jan Doughty; who were a tremendous help to the family.
