  VanOudenhoven, Eugene W. "Gene"Eugene W. "Gene" Van Oudenhoven, age 80, of Neenah, passed away unexpected ly on Monday, March 6, 2006. He was born on January 4, 1926, in Grand Chut e; son of the late Henry and Johanna (Thyssen) Van Oudenhoven. On Janua ry 22, 1949, at St. Therese Catholic Church in Appleton, Gene was unit ed in marriage to Blanche Plutz, this year they celebrated 57 years of mar riage. Gene served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II on the U SS Machias. He was employed as a pressman for American Can Co. for 35 yea rs prior to retirement. Among Genes passions were golf, horseshoes, bowlin g, and camping with friends and family.Survivors include his wife, Blanche Van Oudenhoven, Neenah; son, Greg (Dia ne) Van Oudenhoven, Oshkosh and his children Scot Van Oudenhoven, Julie Mc Kinney and Andrew Van Oudenhoven; daughter, Greta (Paul) Johnson, Winchest er and children Addie (Tim) Sorbo, and Riley (Jackie) Johnson; daughter, G race O'Connell, Appleton and her daughters Shawn O'Connell and special fri end Craig Rensch, and Erin (Nate) Lamers; son, Glenn (Vicki) Van Oudenhove n, Winchester and his sons Tim and Ben; daughter, Gail (Dave) Guay, Escana ba, MI, and daughters Chelsey and Jenna; son, Gary (Penny) Van Oudenhove n, Marshfield and their children Casey, Zoe, Maia, Quinn, and Kohl; son, G uy (Tracy) Van Oudenhoven, Winchester and their children, Paige and Tyle r; three great-grandchildren, Justin, Griffin, and Viggo. Brothers and sis ters include: Rob (Marian) Van Oudenhoven, Gerald (Lorie) Van Oudenhove n, Mrs. Mary Jane Vought, Steve Van Oudenhoven and special friend Carol Ol sen; and sister-in-law, Mrs. Janet Van Oudenhoven.He was preceded in death by parents Henry and Johanna Van Oudenhoven, brot hers Herb and Marv, brother-in-law Donald Vought, and sister-in-law Don na Van Oudenhoven.A Mass of Christian Burial for Gene will take place on Thursday, Mar ch 9, 2006, at 11 a.m. at St. Margaret-Mary Catholic Church, 620 Divisi on St., Neenah with Rev. Michael L. Ingold officiating. Family and frien ds may visit at the church on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the M ass. Interment will take place in St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah. A memori al fund is being established in his name.Gene's family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Radtke, t he nurses and staff at Theda Clark's E.R. especially Christine and Kathle en for their wonderful care and compassion.
