They came to Wisconsin when Mary Ann was 7 years old. She married Peter Wirth on February 27, 1867, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. They had three children in 11 years: Michael, Susan and Theodore. She died on August 14, 1917, in Wausau, Wisconsin, at the age of 68, and was buried there.

  Mrs. Mary Ann Wirth, passed away Tuesday mornling at her home 620 Grant St. an illiness of six week. The deceased was born Germany sixty eight years ago. She came to Americia and lived in Wausau twenty five years. Her husband Peter Wirth died seven yeaes ago. Two daughters survive her Mrs. S. Farlies of East St. Louis, Ill, and Miss Elizabeth Wirth who lives at the family home. Funeral services where held Thursday morning from St. Mary's Church. Rev. Fa. J. B. Hanck said the service. Mrs. Wirth was a member of the Altar Society of St. Mary's Church.
