  Andres, Shirley A. "GrannShirley A. "Granny" Andres, 70, of Little Chute died Saturday, October 2 2, 2005, at home following a nineteen month battle with cancer. She was bo rn February 21, 1935, in Kaukauna daughter of Josephine (Vander Loop) a nd Henry Heiting. Shirley married David Andres July 25, 1953. Mrs. Andr es was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute. Shir ley still enjoyed visits to the cottage, the casino and going out to ea t. Friday's at home were spent eating fish and playing cards. It was not u nusual to see her following the football and baseball games to see how "h er numbers" were doing. She made weekly trips to buy scratch off tickets f or herself and her neighbors. Special neighbors, Gino and Esther Roy, trad ed everything from baked goods to lawn cutting. Shirley did well througho ut her chemo and radiation treatments, worrying more about when she cou ld get back up north, than any pain or side effects. She had many frien ds at Pickerel and Crane Lakes where she and Dave have had cottages the ir entire lives.Shirley is survived by her husband, David "Grampy", having been marri ed 52 years; daughters: Lynn (Mike) Van Asten, Kaukauna; Diane (Dave) Oliv er, Little Chute; sons: Steve (Lori) Andres, Peter (Lynn) Andres both of L ittle Chute; grandchildren: Chris (Jennifer) Van Asten, Sarah Van Asten, J osh and Nick Oliver, Robin Andres, Rachel, Tyler and Zach Andres, Mindy, N athan and Courtney Andres; great grandchildren: Miles Van Asten, Tauryn An dres; brother, Jerome (Delores) Heiting, Kaukauna; sisters-in-law: Aggie H eiting, Little Chute, Jane Heiting, Milwaukee; brothers-in-law: Ed Andre s, Antigo, Dick (Theda) Andres, Appleton; numerous nieces, nephews and oth er relatives.She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Josephine Heiting a nd Henry Heiting; sister, Eunice Wilcox; brothers: Eugene, Richard and Mel vin (Frances) Heiting; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Art Andres, Ge ne (Gerry) Andres, Virginia Andres.Funeral services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2005, at S t. John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen offi ciating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Friends m ay call at the church from 1 p.m. Tuesday until the time of the mass.The family would like to express their appreciation to the oncology doctor s, nurses and staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Shirley even received the " Favorite Patient" award after completing 33 radiation treatments. She cont inued to impress the staff with her spirit and determination in enduring t he treatments.
