Mrs. Martin (Louise) Smits, 91, 220 S. Ontario St., De Pere, died Sunday morning. She was born Oct. 12, 1880 in the Netherlands and came to this country at the age of 12. The former Louise Van Dyck married Mr. Smits in May 1904 at St. Mary's Church, De Pere. She was a member of St. Mary's Christian Mothers Society. Survivors are her husband; seven daughters, Mrs. Emil (Florence) Van Ermen and Mrs. Fabian (Margaret) Reince, both of Green Bay; Mrs. Alden (Joan) Evearts, Suamico; Mrs. Ray (Angie) Schumerth, Mrs. John (Stella) De Groot, Mrs. Howard (Eloice) Zirbel and Miss Marion Smits, all of De Pere; two sons, Ossie, Manistique, Mich.; Ray (Bud) Smits, De Pere; 28 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren. At Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere, after 1 p.m. Tuesday. Parish and Christian Mothers prayer service 8 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral 10 a.m. Wednesday, St. Mary's Church, with the Rev. Martin Smits of Rockland and Miss Louisa Van Dyck were married Wednesday forenoon at St. Mary Catholic Church, with Rev. Father Verstegan performing the ceremony. The bride was attended by Miss Annie Smits, Ferdinand Van Dyck served as best man. A wedding was held, many relatives and friends being present. Mr. & Mrs. will go to housekeepimg in a comfortable new home built by the grrom on South Ontario Street.
