  James J. Schuh, On January 28, 2011 cancer took the life of Jim at his home in the loving arms of his wife and children. Jim was born on March 20, 1935 to Gustave and Agnes (DeBruin) Schuh in Kaukauna. He was a Boy Scout and graduated from Holy Cross and Kaukauna High School. Jim was a veteran and served in the Marine Corps from 1956 - 1958. On October 17, 1959 Jim married Rose Mary Metzler and together they shared 51 years. He was a member of St. Nicholas Parish. Jim was a paper maker for Thilmany for 44 years, retiring in 1997. Jim was a 4-H wood working project leader for many years and loved the challenge of creating works of art out of wood for his family and friends. He took special interest in woodworking projects for and with his children and grandchildren. He loved to be outdoors and took great pride in his garden. One of his greatest enjoyments was feeding and watching the birds. Jim is survived by his wife: Rose Mary, 7 children; Julie (Tony) Roskom, Jeanne (George) Garrity, Jackie (Andy) Meschisen, Jeff (Megan) Schuh, Jill (special friend, Doug and son, Matthew) Jones, Janiece (Ken) Zastrow, Jonathan (Emily) Schuh, grandchildren; Craig (Melissa) Roskom, Jenny (Ben) Van Schyndel, Travis, Emily and Ashlee Roskom, Daniel, Amanda and Michael Garrity, Lizzy, Jonathan and Nathan Meschisen, Erin and Ben Schuh, Brock Jones, Alex Hughes, Kayla, Krista and Sammi Zastrow, Isiah and Payton Schuh; great grandchildren: Sarah and Ethan Roskom. Jim is further survived by his sister: Mary (Jerry) Van Domelen, brothers: John (Sharon), Dick (Margaret), Charlie (Barb) and Marty (Sue) Schuh, Rose Mary's step mother, Virgina Metzler, brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald (Arlene), James (Barb), Lawrence (Faye), Gerald (Carol), Vernon (Patti), Glen and Steve Metzler, Joanne (Hub) Jauquet and Janet (Dale) Walton. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, and in-law's, Henry and Rose Metzler. The funeral Liturgy for Jim will be held on Monday, February 7, 2011 at ST. NICHOLAS CATHOLIC CHURCH (N4088 Country Trunk E, Freedom) at 12:00 Noon with Fr. Dave Hoffman officiating along with Deacon Don Newhouse. Interment will be in the St. Nicholas Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 7, 2011 from 9:00 AM until 11:15 AM at the FARGO FUNERAL HOME. Our gratitude and sincere thanks to Dr. Guenther, the nurses, staff and volunteers, especially Julia and Phyllis, at Martha Siekman Cancer Center. God Bless you all.
