Van Vonderen, Joseph S. 127 Garfield Street Kaukauna
Age 83, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2002 at Parkside Care Center in Little Chute, surrounded by his family. Joe was born in Little Chute on May 28, 1918, son of the late John and Johanna (Thyssen) Van Vonderen. On August 27, 1941, Joe married the former Luella Petit in New London; she survives. For many years, Joe was employed at Thilmany Pulp and Paper, retiring in 1981 as the maintenance supervisor. He was a member of the Thilmany Management Club and the Thilmany Quarter-Century Club. He served his country faithfully as a member of the U.S. Army, and was also a member of the Electric City Post #3319 of the VFW and the Golden Agers. He enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, golfing, traveling with his family, and fishing. His favorite times came from spending time at the family cottage on Thunder Lake, boating and water-skiing with his children and grandchildren. Joe was a "Master Fixer-Upper", and many will remember his desire to constantly putter with engines, electricity, or anything else that caught his eye and needed "adjustment".
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Luella Van Vonderen of Kaukauna; two sons: John J. The funeral liturgy for Joe will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, April 13, 2002 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna with Fr. Jim Lucas officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 - 8 PM and again Saturday at the church from 9 AM until the hour of the service. There will be a parish prayer and scripture service on Friday at 7 PM at the funeral home. On Saturday, Military Memorial Rites will be provided by members of Electric City Post #3319 of the VFW.

Nicholas "Joe" Joseph Gerrits, 96, Kaukauna, formerly of Little Chute passed away Monday, November 13, 2006, at St. Paul Villa. He was born March 5, 1910, in Hollandtown son of George and Catherine (Van Vonderon) Gerrits. Joseph married Frances M. Van Hammond September 23, 1936, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute, where he was also a member. Joseph was employed at the Van Zeeland Chrysler/Plymouth Garage in Little Chute for many years, retiring in 1973. He was an avid bike rider with his wife, Frances and his brother-and sister-in-law Joseph and Gladys Van Hammond.
Mr. Gerrits is survived by his wife, Frances; a daughter, Donna Durawa, Green Bay; 3 grandchildren: Jaye Marie (Thomas) Mortensen, Brookfield; Andrew (Thea) Durawa, Whitefish Bay; James J. He was born Dec. 23, 1921, to the late Henry and Mary (Vanden Heuvel) Van Vonderen.
Harry served in the U.S. Army during World War II, having served in Africa, India, and Burma. He retired as a Stone Mason.

Jane A. Runnoe, nee Gossen, Combined Locks, age 75, passed into God's loving arms on Wednesday, May 22, 2013. Jane was born November 7, 1937, daughter of the late William and Lucy (Van Vonderen) Gossen. She was married to her devoted husband, Roland Runnoe for over 54 years. Jane was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and painting ceramics.
She is survived by her husband, Roland, 5 children: Deb Runnoe, Sandy (Gary) Wittman, Keith (Jenny) Runnoe, Jeff (Debbie) Runnoe, and Dale Runnoe; 8 grandchildren: Brian, Shari, Kevin, Katie, Blake, David, Ben, and Mary; 1 great-grandchild, Brayden; and 1 brother, Ed Gossen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and 9 brothers and sisters.

Clarence W. VanDenElzen, age 89, of De Pere, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at his home. The son of the late William and Ethel (VanVonderen) VanDenElzen was born February 8, 1928 in Green Bay. He married Marie Kocken on June 15, 1949 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in De Pere, and together they shared 68 years of marriage. He started working for Louie Everetts for 3 years, followed by 27 years at Ed Kocken Excavating. He later retired as a heavy equipment operator at Gauthier Construction after 12 years. Clarence was a devoted catholic, and the rosary was an important symbol of his faith. He was well involved at St. Mary Catholic Church in De Pere. He also helped with Meals on Wheels for 23 years, drove medical transport for Lamers for 15 years, and was a long-time member of the De Pere Area Men's Club. He spent his spare time at the cabin on Munger Lake, where he was instrumental in getting the dam rebuilt and restocking fish in the lake.
Survivors include his wife, Marie; children: Daniel (Kathleen) VanDenElzen, Susan (Richard) Smits, Janice Loehlein, Jean Angell, John (Laura) VanDenElzen, Betty (Roche) Smits, grandchildren: Mark VanDenElzen, Ann VanDenElzen, Sarah (Joe) McKee, Joash (Shannon) Smits, Erica (Steve) Rouser, Paul (Katie) Loehlein, Amy Loehlein, Jessica Thrun, Donnie (Mary) Angell, Chris (Laura) VanDenElzen, Craig (Beth) VanDenElzen, Trisha (Kyle) Meulemans, Tanya (Kevin) Kussow, and Tara Smits; many great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Green Bay - Donald Joseph Van Den Elzen, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018. He was born on September 2, 1934 in De Pere, WI to the late William and Ethel (Von Vonderen) Van Den Elzen. On April 22, 1961 Don married Carol Vercauteren at St. John's Catholic Church in Seymour, WI. He was employed as a cement truck driver for 39 years. Don enjoyed watching his grandchildren, hunting up north with the guys, taking care of his yard, fixing puzzles with his great-granddaughter Eva, feeding birds and watching the deer in his backyard, riding his John Deere lawn mower and his Ford Tractor.
Don is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol; his children, Lee (Rene) Van Den Elzen, Lynn (Wade) Schultz, Lois (Larry) Schwister, Lori (Rick) Endries and Larry (Jane) Van Den Elzen; grandchildren, Reed Titulaer, Kayla and Katie Schultz, Ben and Nicole Schwister, Brandi (Nick) Conway, Michael and Mitchell Endries and Jared and Kristi Van Den Elzen; great-granddaughter, Eva Conway; sisters, Jane Kaster and Ruby (Jerry) Dohrmann; sisters-in-law, Marie Van Den Elzen, Teresa Van Den Elzen and Rosemary Van De Hei.

Ellsworth J. Johnson, "Ossie", Crivitz, age 87, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2014. He was born on April 25, 1926, son of the late Willard and Helena (Van Straten) Johnson. On August 7, 1948 he was united in marriage to Rose Micke at St. Mary Catholic Church in Kaukauna and together they celebrated 65 years of marriage. He was a truck driver for over 30 years at CW Transport Co. until his retirement. Ossie was an avid hunter and fly fisherman. He loved baseball and was asked to play for the Bluejays. He was really involved in all of his grandchildren's sporting activities. Ossie looked forward to his hunting trips out west and fishing trips to Canada. He spent his leisure time at the cabin in Crivitz where he and Rose made their permanent home 4 years ago.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, and playing poker. Roland J. Mommaerts, 88 of De Pere passed away on Memorial Day, Monday May 26, 2014. He was born August 13, 1925 in De Pere to the late Albert and Ethel (Borman) Mommaerts. On July 24, 1948 he was united in marriage to Mary Strutz at St. Therese Catholic Church in Appleton. Roland and Mary owned and operated Mommaerts Auto for 52 years. He had been involved in the business for 62 years. Roland was a veteran of WWII and served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a member of the American Legion. Roland enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting and fishing and going up to the cabin with his family. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in De Pere.
Roland is survived by his children; John Mommaerts, Jean (Michael) McHenry, Dave Mommaerts all of De Pere. His four grandchildren; Stephanie (Chad) Ambrosius, Nicholas (Vanessa) Mommaerts, Jennifer O'Connell and her fiancé Damian Hilgendorf, and Christopher O'Connell. His great grandchildren; Collin, Jamison, and Jackson. Roland's siblings; Donna (John) Conlon, Doris Wishart, Robert (Nancy) Mommaerts, Diane (Gene) Deboth, and his sister in law Marge Mommaerts. Doris M. (Mommaerts) Wishart, 88, De Pere, passed away at home in the early hours of September 6, 2017, surrounded by her family.
Born July 14, 1929, Doris was the daughter of Albert and Ethel (Borman) Mommaerts.
On July 25, 1953, Doris married Darold E. Wishart at St. Joseph Catholic Church in De Pere. Doris spent most of her years at home raising her four children in De Pere, and later in Niagara.
The last two years of Darold's career, she earned her CDL and they drove as a team for Schneider Transport across the country, seeing all 48 states! They returned to De Pere in 2005.
Doris is survived by her children, Jeff (Melanie) Wishart, Laurie Weber and Lisa (Chazz) Quigley. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Amy Wishart, Billie Jo (Alfredo) Nunez-Vasquez, Holly (Martin Villasenor) Wishart, Christine Wishart, and Craig Weber, and 15 great-grandchildren.
She is even further survived by her siblings, Donna Conlon, Robert (Nancy) Mommaerts, Dianne (Gene) DeBoth, as well as other members of her extended family.
She is "together again" with her husband Darold, parents Albert and Ethel, son Steve, siblings Roland (Mary) Mommaerts, Donald (Margie) Mommaerts and infant sibling Gerald, as well as brother-in-law John "Jack" Conlon.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 16 from 1:00 to 4:00 at Lisa's home. Please reach out to family for further details.

Carol J. Schwei, Neenah, age 72, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 21, 2008, at Cherry Meadows Hospice. She was born April 4, 1935, in Little Chute, daughter of the late John and Harriet (Van Vonderen) Hammen. Carol graduated from St. John's High School in Little Chute in 1953 and attended St. Mary's Nursing School in Rochester, Minnesota, for three years, graduating in 1956. Carol married Dr. George P. Schwei in October of 1968. He preceded her in death on January 8, 1978. Carol was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Neenah. Carol's vocation as a nurse enabled her to have many unique and wonderful experiences. Her career took her to Phoenix, Yellowstone National Park, Madison, where she worked for the Red Cross, and ultimately to Neenah where she worked in the surgical intensive care unit at Theda Clark Hospital and as a registered nurse at Vallhaven Care Center. Carol loved her family, loved to travel, and loved the Chicago Cubs. She will be remembered for her dedication to the sick and elderly, her inner strength, and her undying spirit and optimism.
Survivors include three children, Matthew Schwei, Madison, Joseph (Tamara Downs) Schwei, Minneapolis, David (Michelle) Schwei, Atlanta; a brother, Dan (Ellen) Hammen, Stockbridge.
She was preceded in death by a sister, June Hammen and a brother, Clarence "Abe" Hammen.
The Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 25, 2008, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Ingold officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home and again at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established for St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.

Daniel J. Hammen, age 75, of Stockbridge, died on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at his home in Stockbridge. He was born January 4, 1942 in Little Chute, son of the late John "Jack" & Harriet (VanVonderen) Hammen.
He served in the United States Army, and following his discharge, he returned to the area and opened up Dan's Drive where he hired his soon to be wife, Ellen. Dan married Ellen Meyer on June 19, 1965 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge.
Dan was a 'Jack of all Trades', not just in the construction arena, but throughout every facet of his life. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge, served on the Stockbridge School Board where he also served as President, was a Charter Member of the Stockbridge Lions Club, he belonged to the Stockbridge American Legion and ran the Brant Inn with his wife Ellen for a time. Dan was also a retired member of the Stockbridge Fire Department and the Stockbridge Harbor Fishing Club.
Dan enjoyed time spent on Lake Winnebago, especially during the annual Sturgeon Spearing Season. He was known to be an excellent party planner, especially when it came to crafting surprise birthday parties for those he loved. Above all else, the loving man cherished his children and all that they have accomplished in their lives. He loved each and every one of his children and grandchildren dearly.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen, his children: John (Dawn) Hammen, Ted Hammen, Randy (Amy) Hammen, Steve (Jodi) Hammen, Jayna (Andy) Shene; his grandchildren: Bryce, Jack, Bella, Morgan & Mason; and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Wayne (Ginny) Meyer, Marilyn (Lyle) Levknecht, Pat Parsons, Carol Wolf & her friend, Jim, and Judy Meyer & her friend, Bob. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Ted & Hilda Meyer; a brother: Clarence "Abe" Hammen, sisters: June Hammen & Carol (Dr. George) Schwei; and his brothers-in-law: Ted Meyer, Sam Wolf & Don Parsons.

Mary graduated from Appleton West High School in 1964 and retired from Appleton Papers in Combined Locks. She is survived by her son: Troy Nabbefeld; a niece: Laurie Gonnering; and a dear friend Darlene Vande Voort.. Mary was preceded in death by her sister Sally Gonnering-Nettekoven and brother Martin "Butch" VanVonderen.

On September 8, 1954, she was united in marriage to Donald McHugh, and he preceded her in death on November 12, 2005. Gladys, along with her husband, lived and farmed in the Hortonville area until their retirement. They enjoyed traveling, playing cards and spending time with their family. Gladys was an active member of SS Peter and Paul Parish where she served on various committees. Clarence G. Lamers, 79, Gresham, passed away after a brief illness Sunday, February 27, 2011, at Parkside Care Center in Little Chute. He was born November 18, 1931, in Little Chute, to the late George and Agnes (Gerritts) Lamers. Clarence proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. On May 18, 1955, he married Donna Schroeder at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton. He owned and operated Lamers Construction in Shawano for more than 45 years. He was a life member of the Shawano VFW. His interests included: reading, camping, planting trees, water skiing and the Packers.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 55 years, Donna, Gresham; a daughter, Brenda Lamers, Appleton; a son, Bruce Lamers, Gresham; a sister, Arlene Lamers, Little Chute; a brother, Ronald (Mary) Lamers, Appleton; numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Mark S. DeNoble, 63, Green Bay, passed away May 1, 2017, with family and friends by his side. Born April 24, 1954, he is the son of the late John and Leola (Cornell) DeNoble. He was a graduate of St. Joseph Catholic School and Ashwaubenon High School, earned a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay and a Master of Business Administration Degree from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh. He was proud to say he worked at Super Valu unloading trucks in his early days. He became a Supervisor at Schreiber Foods for many years until he began work at Hernke Foods in Hilbert. When Sargento Foods acquired Hernke Foods, he became part of the Sargento Foods family and managed the Kiel facility until his retirement. He met his future wife while they both worked at Schreiber Foods. He married Kathleen (Klopotic) DeNoble on May 19, 1979. Mark loved the outdoors and spent much time at their cottage in the Town of Stephenson near Boat Landing #9 on Caldron Falls Flowage. He was an avid deer and duck hunter and went on many trips to South Dakota to hunt pheasants. He enjoyed his many yearly fishing trips to Canada. His Catholic faith was important to him and attending weekly Mass was a given. He had a beautiful voice and shared it by singing in the choir at both St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish and later at St. Mary Parish in De Pere. Mark also volunteered his time as President of the St. Mary / St. Francis Conference of the St. Vincent de Paul organization. Helping people was second nature to him. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and was a Boy Scout leader for many years. He loved all the camping, hiking and backpacking trips with Boy Scout Troop 1043 in De Pere. Above all, family meant the most to Mark. He was very close with his family and enjoyed spending time with them, supporting them and watching their successes. He was a great friend and mentor to many and will be missed dearly.
Mark is survived by his wife Kathy of 37 (almost 38) years; two children, Adam DeNoble, Amber DeNoble-Hall (Michael Hall) (Neenah); three grandchildren, Wesley DeNoble-Winkel, Milo and Iver Hall, Ava Adams-Hall (Arizona); one brother, Vincent (Virginia Rae) Nicklas; one sister, LoAnn (Eugene) Hebel; aunt, Carol DeNoble (Texas) and many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his infant sister, Debra; uncles, William (Louise) DeNoble and Gerald DeNoble (Texas).
Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Ave, De Pere, on Friday, May 5, from 4-7pm, with a prayer service at 6:30pm led by Sr. Helen Keyzer. Visitation will continue on Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Dr, Ledgeview, from 10:00am until 10:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am with the Rev. John H. Harper and Rev. Richard Getchel concelebrating.
Many thanks to the staff of the Green Bay Metro Fire Department and the St. Vincent Hospital Emergency, Critical Care and Pastoral Care Departments who cared for him in his final days. Obituary:
Carol A. Heyrman, 62, Green Bay, died unexpectedly on January 28, 2016. Born on August 15, 1953, in Green Bay, she is the daughter of the late Hugo and Eunice (Schadrie) Pansier. On June 9, 1990, she married Brad Heyrman at Green Isle Park. Carol worked as a certified nursing assistant at the Brown County Mental Health Center for 28 years, until her retirement. She enjoyed camping, playing BINGO, and spending time with family, especially her three grandsons.
Carol is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Brad, Green Bay; daughter, Shannon (Jim) Terrien; son, Chad Frisque (fiancé, Jessica Koch); three grandchildren, Josh, Logan, and Aiden; brother, Jerry (Ann) Pansier; sister-in-law, Gloria Pansier; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Dave Pansier; and her parents.
Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird St., Monday from 2-3 p.m. Memorial service 3:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Obituary:
Gary Huiting, 52 years, passed away surrounded by his loved ones at Cherry Meadows, Appleton. He was born on February 11, 1964 to his loving parents Donald J. and Mary L. (Horn) Huiting in Appleton. He spent time in his early years, as boys did, playing football with neighborhood friends and family time watching favorite sports. Gary was an employee of SCA Tissue as a machine operator and active in the PACE Union. He liked to follow NASCAR and was skilled at darts. The family travelled to Orlando visiting Universal Studios and catching a race at Talladega along the way. Cheering on his Packers at his home with his family was pure fun. He cherished time with his boys teaching driving and guiding them on their life journey. Most of all Gary loved to be with his family.
On September 7, 1991 at St. Patrick Catholic Church Gary J. and Bobbi A. (Hoehne) Huiting were united in marriage. They settled in Kimberly and raised their family.
Gary will be missed by the love of his life, his wife Bobbi A. (Hoehne) Huiting, children Spencer Huiting and Mitchell Huiting, parents Donald J. and Mary L. (Horn) Huiting, brothers Karl (Anne) Huiting, Dave (Amy) Huiting, Ken (Colleen Kelly) Huiting, brother-in-law Tom (Gwen) Hoehne, sister-in-law Sandy Herzfeldt, God-parents Cheryl Horn-Noldner and Herb Horn. Preceded in death by brother-in-law Ross Herzfeldt.
The Funeral Service for Gary will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 1 pm at Wichmann-Fargo Laemmerich Chapel, 312 Milwaukee St., Menasha. Deacon Don Schultz will be presiding. Family and friends may gather, at the Funeral Home, from 10 am until time of Service.
The family thanks his physician Dr. David King of Froedterdt and the staff of Cherry Meadows for their loving care of Gary.
