    Michalkiewicz, John G. Menasha
    Age 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2002 at Theda Clark Medical Center. He was born on March 26, 1918 in Menasha, the son of the late Frank and Bernice (Schreiber) Michalkiewicz. John married Mary Grishaber on July 15, 1941 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Appleton. He was employed at American Can for 38 years until his retirement in 1976. John was a member of the Quarter Century Club. John served in the Army, active in World War II from 1942-1945 where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Menasha. John enjoyed golfing and gardening. Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Mary, seven children: son, George (Jane), Villa Ridge, Missouri, daughter, Ruth Ann (Edward) Schroeder, Three Lakes, Wisconsin, daughter, Kathleen (Leon) Koerner, Appleton, son Thomas (Sally), Menasha, son, John (Paula), Menasha, daughter, Judi (Michael) McDowell, Menasha, son, David (Linda), Menasha, 23 grandchildren, two step grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. John is further survived by two brothers: Sylvester (Jane), Neenah and Joseph (Marie), Appleton; a sister, Bernice Kleinhans, Chilton, seven sisters-in-law Margaret (Jerome) Wellhouse, Kaukauna, Gertie Gaffney, Kimberly, Louise Davidson, Appleton, Virginia Grishaber, Milwaukee, Bette Wingrove, Appleton, Tom (Corrine) Grishaber, Kaukauna, Loretta Grishaber, Margaret Grishaber, and Dorothy Grishaber. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. John was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters-in-law: Ed (Alma) Michalkiewicz, Ray (Mabel) Michalkiewicz, Frank Michalkiewicz, Clarence (Peggy) Michalkiewicz, a sister and brother-in-law, Marcella (Lyle) Veine, a brother-in-law Tony Kleinhans, his mother and father-in-law, Conrad and Theresa Grishaber, ten brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law: Leo, Arnold, Paul, Daniel and Robert Grishaber, Harold (Betty) Grishabaer, Richard (Gertie) Grishaber, Nicholas Gaffney, Ben Davidson, and Jack Wingrove.
    Funeral services for John will be held on Monday, May 13, 2002, 11:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Menasha with Father Paul Radetski officiating. Family and friends will be received on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Intement will be in St. John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.

    George J. Michalkiewicz, age 72, of Menasha, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2014, at Fox River Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on June 30, 1942, in Appleton, the son of the late John and Mary (Grishaber) Michalkiewicz. George's employment began at James River, formerly American Can and he retired from Jefferson Smurfit-Stone in Pacific, Missouri. He coached basketball for 25 years at St. John Catholic School in Menasha. George was an avid Packer fan and fisherman, and he looked forward to his fishing trips to Canada. Over the years camping, golfing, and gardening were a few of his interests.
    George is survived by his children Susan and Dan Stanczak of Menasha, and their children Tanya Belknap, Heather and Amber Stanczak; Daniel and Patricia Michalkiewicz of Appleton, and their children Marissa and Mason Michalkiewicz; and Anthony Michalkiewicz and Kim Edens of Rochester, Minnesota; siblings Ruth Ann (Edward) Schroeder, Kathleen (Leon) Koerner, Thomas (Sally) Michalkiewicz, John Michalkiewicz, Judi (Michael) McDowell, and David (Linda) Michalkiewicz. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. George was preceded in death by his sister-in-law Paula Michalkiewicz.
    The memorial service for George will be held at 11:30 am on Monday, July 21, 2014 at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL, 1592 Oneida Street in Menasha. Deacon Rick Dvorak will be officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Parkinson Disease Association are appreciated. Online condolences can be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.
    The family would like to thank the staff at Fox River Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the excellent care given to George.
