    Flunker, Willis H.
    Willis H. Flunker, age 88, went home to be with his Lord, Wednesday, Feb 28, 2007, at Harbor Heights assisted living in Sheboygan, where he has been a resident the past six years. He was born June 30, 1918, in the Town of Ellington, in Outagamie County, a son of the late Henry and Hilda Lippold Flunker. He attended Bethlehem Lutheran School in Hortonville and graduated from Hortonville High School. He then attended the Agricultural short course at UW Madison and then worked as a milk tester in the cheese industry . Willis was then employed at Fairmont Foods in Appleton for 35 years before retiring. In retirement, he lived in Green Bay for a short time before moving to Sheboygan in the mid 1970s.
    While living in Hortonville, Willis was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church where he served as a deacon, treasurer and secretary through the years. Since living in Sheboygan he has been a member of Calvary Lutheran Church and served on its church council and a member of the church Happy Hearts Club. Willis was an avid card player and could always be found helping others in various capacities. In 1988, he was awarded a Citation for Community Service from the City of Sheboygan.
    Survivors include two sisters: Verna Fouts, Sheboygan; Ellen Schmidt, Neenah; as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by a sister Lorna Flunker.
    Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 3, 1 p.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church at 2132 N. 27th St. in Sheboygan. The Rev. Timothy P. Kuske, pastor of the church will officiate. Burial will take place in Union Cemetery in Hortonville. Friends may call at the church on Saturday, from 11 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund will be established in Willis' name. The Wittkopp-Schneider Funeral Home in Plymouth is serving the family. Online condolences may be sent to www.wittkoppschneider.com.
