    Rta Mary Lau, age 88, died on Monday July 2, 2012 at Manitowoc Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born on June 21, 1924 in the town of Holland in Brown County, daughter of the late Steve and Cora (Vander Loop) Wittmann. Rita was a 1943 graduate of Brillion High School. On July 20, 1944 she married Delbert A. Lau in Pueblo, Colorado. She was employed at the Brillion Iron Works in the office until her retirement in 1979. For many years Rita enjoyed sewing wedding dresses and many other seamstress duties. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion and the Ladies Aid, the Brillion Ladies Cribbage Club and the American Legion Auxiliary in Brillion for over 60 years. Survivors include two sons, Thyrone Lau of Kaukauna, Daryl Lau of Brillion, three daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn & Don Busse of Reedsville, Denise & Ralph Schmitting of Brillion, Roxane & James Schmitting of Brillion, 10 grandchildren, D.     Marvin A. Wittmann, age 88, of Little Chute, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Monday, October 30, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the Mass. A complete obituary will be in the Sunday, November 12th edition.

    Marvin A. Wittmann, 88, of Little Chute passed away peacefully on Monday morning, October 30, 2017. He was born July 3, 1929 in Askeaton, son of the late Steve & Cora (VanderLoop) Wittmann. Marvin's greatest happiness came from his faith, friends, and most importantly his family. He enjoyed cheering on the Packers and playing games of sheephead with friends and family. He was an expert cribbage player- he especially enjoyed playing weekly cribbage tournaments at Hollanders. In his younger years, he was an avid bowler, golfer and loved to travel with family, friends and his beloved, Delores. One of his greatest joys came from his weekends at the cottage on Legend Lake with family, utilizing his fire-making skills!
    Marvin grew up on the family farm in Askeaton with his five sisters; Rita Lau, Arlene Fink, La Verne Meyer, Gloria Steinfest and Dorothy (Alan) Zahn. He was a dedicated employee at Thilmany and Akrosil up until his retirement which led to his favorite job working with his son Bill building homes.
    Marvin will be sadly missed by his four children, Dave (Mary Ellen) Wittmann and their children, Kelly (Sam) Huss, Jodi (Kevin) Feick, Steven and Cora Wittmann; Mary (Steve) Waterstreet and their children, Jackie (Tony) Jansch, Rusty (Terri) and Diana Lison, Ryan (April), Mike and Joe Waterstreet, and Holly (Nick) Latzig; Marge Wilson and her children, Brian, Adam, and Kevin (April) Wilson; Bill (Connie) Wittmann and their children, Scott (Katie), Claire (fiancé, Josh), and Jordan (fiancé, Charlie) Wittmann- along with 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by the Delores Moseng family in which he loved being part of- Denis Moseng, Cindy (Larry) Tappa and their children.
    Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 14th at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine St. Little Chute, beginning at 3:00 p.m. until time of mass at 5:00 p.m. with Fr. Ron Belitz officiating. For online condolences, please visit www.verkuilenfh.com

    LaVerne Catherine Meyer, age 84, passed away peacefully at Caring Hands Assisted Living in New Holstein, WI, on Saturday, July 1, 2017. She was born on March 7, 1933, in Brillion, WI, the daughter of the late Steve and Cora (VanderLoop) Wittmann. LaVerne was a 1950 graduate of Brillion High School. On November 24,1955 she married the love of her life, Jerome (Jerry) Aloysius Meyer, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Askeaton, WI. Jerry preceded her in joining their heavenly father on September 29, 2012. As the years went by, LaVerne missed Jerry immensely and has now been reunited with him at their final resting place in heaven. In their life together, they lived in Sheboygan Falls, WI, for 35 years, and then upon their retirement, moved to Kiel, WI, to be closer to their immediate family. They enjoyed gardening together, and Jerry would often bring her flowers from their gardens.
    LaVerne was employed at Tecumseh in Sheboygan Falls, WI, as an inspector prior to her retirement in 1995. She was a member of the Kiel VFW Auxiliary. With her strong faith, she was an active member of Ss. Peter & Paul Parish in Kiel, WI, belonged to their Christian Mothers group, and ushered mass services with her husband. She loved baking with her grandchildren, especially when they were little, as she often laughed at how "artistic" they could be with frosting the cookies. She enjoyed golfing and was in a golf league for about 10 years. She thoroughly enjoyed playing card games. She loved collecting plates and bells. She always looked forward to their annual vacations in Golf Shores, AL, over the winter months during their retirement years. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff at Caring Hands Assisted Living in New Holstein, WI, and to the staff at Heartland Hospice in Fond du Lac, WI, for their compassionate care of LaVerne. Survivors include: a daughter, Cheryl (Tom) Graff of Elkhart Lake, WI; a son, Daniel (Vickie) Meyer of Howards Grove, WI; 4 grandchildren: Jennifer (Christopher) Wray, nee Graff of Waukesha, WI, Jeremy (Rachel) Graff of Sheboygan Falls, WI, Becky (Jake) Murray, nee Meyer of Bloomington, MN, and Sarah (Patrick) Costello, nee Meyer of Shakopee, MN; 3 great grandchildren: Allison and Madelyn Wray of Waukesha, WI, and Henry Murray of Bloomington, MN; 2 sisters: Arlene Fink of Kaukauna, WI, and Dorothy (Allan) Zahn of Brillion, WI, 1 brother, Marvin Wittmann of Little Chute, WI, and 1 sister-in-law, Verdayne Meyer of Sheboygan Falls, WI. Along with her loving husband, she was preceded in death by her immediate family of two sisters: Rita Lau and Gloria Steinfest along with several other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.     Gloria Schuh Steinfest, age 79, of Brillion, died on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay. She was born on June 25, 1934 in Askeaton, daughter of the late Steven & Cora (Vanderloop) Wittmann. On May 30, 1955, she married Harland Schuh. He preceded her in death on December 20, 1987. On April 12, 1997, Gloria married Don Steinfest. She was a teacher's aid at Brillion Elementary School for several years and then worked as a book keeper for Brooks Oil Company in Hollandtown. She loved playing cards, doing puzzles, spending time with her family and following her grandchildren's activities. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion, the Christian Mothers and the Red Hatters.
