    Obituary:
    Funeral services for Theodore Calmes, 86, who died Sunday morning at his home at Wuerzburg, were held Wednesday morning at 9:30 at St. John the Baptist church, Wuerzburg. The Rev. Joseph Burgraff sang the requiem high mass after which burial was made in the parish cemetery.
    Mr. Calmes was born July 17, 1866 in Metz, Belgium, and six years later came to America and lived in New York State for 20 years. Then he located in Appleton where he was married, April 26, 1892, to Susan Ellenbecker. They moved to the town of Johnson in 1910. He farmed until 1932, and continued to live on the farm the rest of his life.
    Surviving are the widow, four sons and six daughters: George and Mrs. A. J. Schmirler, Abbotsford; Joseph, Peter, and Miss Barbara Calmes, town of Johnson; Norbert, Point Arena, California; Miss Amelia Calmes, Wausau; Mrs. Elmerd Schemenauer, town of Frankfort; Mrs. Charles Scherer, Chicago; and Mrs. Joseph Boser, of Milwaukee.
    Also surviving are 29 grand children and two great grand children, and one brother, Nicholas Calmes, of Strykersville, New York.

    PETER ARNOLD CALMES - Peter Arnold Calmes, 97, formerly of 324 1/2 NorthThird Avenue, Wausau, died on Saturday September 4, 2004 at WausauManor. He was born near Mackville in the township of Center, OutagamieCounty, on July 9, 1907, the son of Theodore and Susanna (Ellenbecker)Calmes. His early years were speant near Mackville and in Appleton,Outagamie County, where his father had a saloon and general store andengaged in farming. In 1910 the family moved to a farm in Wuertzburg,township of Johnson in MArathon County. On June 24, 1950, he married AFranzoi at St. John the Baptist Church, Wuertzburg. In 1952 Peter andAda moved to Wausau. In addition to farming hw was acontract carrierfor the Wausau Daily Hearld from 1935, traveling 100 to 125miles a daysix days a week, until his retirement November 1, 1980. During this satime period he also was a Star Route Carrier for the U.S. Post Officeuntil 1970. Peter was a member of the Knights of Colombus Council No.1069 and its bowling team. He attended many tournaments and won severaltrophies. Peter also enjoyed playing pool, dart ball andcards,especially sheepshead and skat. He and Ada enjoyed cruises to theCaribbean and Hawaii, car trips to Alaska, California and many westernstates, and bus tours to Canada and New England. In their later yearsthey spent many winters in Florida and Arizona. Peter loved his familyand was a very devoted and cring son, husband and brother. Peter wasvery grateful to Gud Lang for many years of friendship and weeklyvisits. He was also very grateful for the loving vcare given to him bythe staff at Applegate Terrace and Wausau Manor for several years.Survivors include his sister, Catherine Scherer, Chicago. He is alsosurvived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. He waspreceded in death by his beloved wife, Ada, on April 6, 1995; hisparents; three brothers,George Calmes, Joseph Calmes, Norbert, Calmes;six sisters, Barbara Calmes, Josephine Schmirler, Elizabeth Calmes, MarBoser, Cecilia Schmenauer, Amalia Calmes; sisters-in-law, Martha Reis(George) Calmes, Vera Meske (George) Calmes, Mae Lochen (Joseph) Calmes,Bernice Settler (Norbert) Calmes; and brothers-in-law, Anton Schmirler,Charles Scherer, Joseph Boser and Elmerd Schemenauer. The funerla Masswill be celebrated at 11:30 AM Thursday, September 9,2004, at the Churchof St. Ann, Wausau. The Rev. Steven Brice will preside.Entombment willbe in Holy Angels Mausoleum, St. Michael Cemetery, Wausau.     Obituary:
    Cecilia Schemenauer, 90, Athens died Nov. 10, 1999, at her residence in the town of Frankfort, Marathon County. Funeral services were held Nov. 15, at St. John's Catholic Church inWuertzburt, with Father LenStashek officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
    The former Ceilia Calmes was born on Nov. 1 1909, in Appleton, the daughter of Theodore and Susan (Ellenbecker) Calmes. On Sept. 1 1931, Cecilia and Elmerd Schemenauer were united in marriage in a double ceremony with her sister Catherine Calmes and Charles Scherer at St. John's Catholic Church in Wuertzburg.
    Cecilia and Elmerd farmed in the Town of Frankfort until retiring and continued to reside on the home farm. She especialy enjoyed gardening, fishing, and playing cards with family and friends. She was a long time member of St. John's Parish Council of Catholic Women and the Franklin Home Makers Club.
    Surviviors include her husband of 68 years, Elmerd Schemenauer of Athens; three sons, Raymond (Joyce) Schemenauer of Athens, Elmer (Patricia) Schemenauer, Jr. of Jackson and Peter (Marian) Schemenauer; of Athens; two daughters, Susan (Dennis) Nowacki of Athens and Kathleen Zettler of Athens; one brother, Peter Calmes of Wausau; two sisters Catherine Scherer of Chicago, Ill., and Josephine Schmirler of Milwaukee; 28 grandchildren, and 39 great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Joann Redmann and infant Mary Jane, three brothers and three sisters.
    Grandsons served as pallbearers: Craig Schemenauer, Kevin Schemenauer, Tim Schemenauer, Corey Zettler Jerry Redmann and Brian Nowacki.
