    Obituary:
Ms Frances Anne Bubolz died Sunday January 29 as a result of complications of Parkinson's disease at Ingleside Nursing Home in Mount Horeb, WI.
Ms Bubolz was the youngest child of Julius Christian and Margaret Nelson Bubolz. She was born in Hollister, WI, where she grew up on the family farm. When she was little she was given the nickname "Storm," which she was called by family members all her life. There are various versions of how she got this nickname, but she insisted it was earned when other children teased her pets. As a child, she was cherished for her precocious intelligence and musical talent and her long blond ringlets, which drew comparisons to Shirley Temple.
Ms Bubolz graduated from Oshkosh High School and earned a B. Mus. and M. Mus. Degree from UW-Madison, where she was a Rennebohm Scholar in recognition of her academic achievement. She double majored in voice and trumpet, and also trained as a music educator. During her long teaching career, she taught high school choral music at Neenah High School, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, in Sturgeon Bay and in Appleton, where she also taught elementary school music. She believed every child could and should learn to sing. Her high standards were legendary: she was famous for her elaborate Gilbert and Sullivan productions, even with children in younger grades. She maintained friendships with former music students throughout her life, and mentored many who pursued careers in music.
She continued her career as a singer and trumpeter, performing solo voice recitals and playing the trumpet with the Fox Valley Symphony for many years. She also performed as an actor with the Attic Theater in Appleton. She was a discriminating and encyclopedic listener and critic, and she fostered a love of music and theater in her students, nieces and nephews with her generous gifts of books, records and tickets to music and theater performances.
Ms. Bubolz was keenly interested in environmental issues and was a true friend of the earth. She maintained enormous flower and vegetable gardens at the family farm in Hollister and at her home in Appleton. She gave up using pesticides after reading Silent Spring in 1962. For years, she used only spring water from the farm, and with great effort toted it back to Appleton for cooking and drinking. In the early 1960s, she was active in environmental advocacy as an opponent of the proposed Pearson Dam on her beloved Wolf River. She was also an early adopter of solar power, installing solar panels on her roof and selling power back to the power company for decades.
After her retirement from teaching, Ms Bubolz was a volunteer tutor for the Literacy Education Services, Inc. in Appleton. She gave time, friendship, protection and often material assistance to scores of immigrants from all over the world, and she was proud of the collection of traditional art, recipes, and testimonials she received in return. She loved learning about other cultures, and she was a champion of those who needed help getting a leg up in their new country. She was also a tireless advocate for Native Americans, raising her voice on their behalf in public, and donating resources to defend Native American tribal rights.
She was a lover of animals throughout her life, and raised horses, many beloved dogs and rescue cats. For years she drove back and forth to Hollister to feed and water her flock of homing pigeons, and she knew each one by name. She was gifted in her ability to communicate with these pets and the whole family enjoyed their rich personalities and antics.
She is survived by her sister-in-law Marge Bubolz of New Glarus; her nephews and nieces, Michael Anderegg (Cheryl) of Marquette, MI; Margaret McNurlan of Stony Brook, NY; Barbara Anderegg (Harry Moen) of Madison; Virginia Mueller (Juergen) of Sun Prairie; Robert J. Anderegg (Jennifer Grant) of Hartland, VT; David Anderegg (Kelley DeLorenzo) of West Stockbridge, MA; Carl S. Nadler (Judy) of Washington DC; Marky Kuba of Eau Claire; Susan Burns of Lake Saint Louis, IL; Ellen Knight of Raymond ME; Amy Fowler (Mike) of Verona, WI; Danford Bubolz (Susan) of Verona; Justin Bubolz (Sonja) of Hannibal, MO; and J. Forrest Bubolz of Baraboo. She was predeceased by her parents and by her brother Dan Bubolz and her sister Anita Anderegg.
The family wishes to thank the staffs of Ingleside Nursing Home in Mount Horeb and Avalon Assisted Living Community in Madison for their loving kindness to Storm, and especially to thank Barbara Anderegg and Amy Fowler for their unstinting devotion to Storm during the last three years. Memorial donations may be made to your local humane society, literacy program, or school music program. A memorial service will be held in Appleton in the spring of this year. Remembrances may be sent to the family c/o Ellestad Camacho Funeral Home, 500 N. 8th Street, Mount Horeb, WI 53572.

Fran Bubolz, born May 4, 1929, died January 29, 2017. Fran enjoyed a long career teaching vocal music in the school districts of Sturgeon Bay, Menasha and Appleton. After retirement, Fran tutored students from many countries with the Literacy Educatiion Services, Inc. (LESI). She built many new and lasting friendships with both students and staff there. Fran lived her life focused on providing educational opportunities, living gently on this planet and loving her rescued pets. The family invites friends to join a celebration of her life on Saturday, May 13th, from 1-4 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 325 E. Franklin St., Appleton, WI.

    Obituary:
    G. Allen Bubolz of Appleton died peacefully at Cherry Meadows Hospice Care Center after an extended illness with Parkinson's disease. He was 79.
Allen was born in Washington D.C. to the late Gordon A. and Amelia T.M. (Juve) Bubolz. Before he could walk the family moved to Appleton and eventually to their home on River Drive. Allen graduated from Appleton High School in 1954 and from Valparaiso University in 1959 with a degree in electrical engineering. He attended law school at the University of Wisconsin.
After his formal education, Allen joined his father at Home Mutual Insurance Companies, now SECURA Insurance Companies. During his career at SECURA he had leadership positions in its life insurance, financing and security operations where he served as president of Homeco Life and its affiliated firms. He retired from SECURA in 1989. After retirement he joined his father in the development and management of Jellystone Park in Fremont.
At age 29 Allen was elected Outagamie County Board Supervisor and was instrumental in the development of local county parks and nature centers including Plamaan, 1000 Islands and Mosquito Hill. His interest in politics led him to join the John Birch Society and he became its board chair from 1988 to 1991. He was instrumental in moving the headquarters of the society from Belmont, MA to Appleton.
Allen excelled in many sports, whether water ski jumping, snow ski racing, marathon running, or competing in triathlons. He always included his children in his endeavors and passed onto them his love for sports.
He is best remembered in the water ski community. In 1956 he created one of the first Water Ski Show Teams, the Enterprise Lake Water Sports Club in Langlade County. He was the founder and first president of the Wisconsin Water Ski Federation and the chairman of the board of the American Water Ski Association. He was also the president of the International Water Ski Federation. In 1972 he served as the U.S. judge for the water ski exhibition at the Olympics in Germany. He helped in forming the Webfooters Water Ski Club in Fremont and co-founded the Gordy Bubolz Water Ski School with his son Gordy. He was inducted into the Wisconsin Water Ski Hall of Fame and received the USA Water Ski Hall of Fame Award of Distinction.
Allen's family remembers fondly his love of engineering and his many ambitious projects. As a young boy he constructed motorized race cars and crystal radio sets. Later he built water ski jumps and could often be found fixing boat engines, doing cottage repairs or building model airplanes with the kids. He enjoyed attending the EAA air show in Oshkosh with his children and grandchildren and rarely missed even in the advanced stages of Parkinson's disease.
He had a natural charisma and ability to connect with people whether giving a speech as an executive or stopping at the local tavern on the Wolf River. He was an engaging story teller with a wit that made old stories about his many broken bones ever entertaining.
Allen is survived by his loving wife Kay Lynn Bubolz. Together they raised a wonderful blended family of children including Karen (Mark) Worner, St. Michael, MN; Bill (Bev) Tusler, Neenah; Linda (Naoyuki) Ashida, Bloomingdale, IL; Kitsy (Mark) Radermacher, Fargo, ND; Brenda Purdy, Appleton; Kristen (Rob) Shaver, Wylie, TX; and Gordy (Rhonda) Bubolz, Fremont; and enjoyed 17 spirited grandchildren: Ron Tusler, Liz Tusler-Meyer, Erin Worner, Erik Worner, Michael Ashida, Sarah Ashida, Kiki Radermacher, Tony Radermacher, Bruce Purdy, Roy Purdy, George Purdy, Lucas Shaver, Jason Shaver, Anna Bubolz, Kaitlyn Bubolz, Gordon Bubolz and Kirra Bubolz.
Allen is also survived by his siblings Amelia (Walter) Rugland, Appleton; John (Patti) Bubolz, Punta Gorda, FL; and Gerald (Mary Ellen) Bubolz, Thief River Falls, MN and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service for Allen will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at ST. MATTHEW'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 129 S. Mason St. Appleton, with reverend Thomas Mielke. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3:00 PM to 6:00PM on Tuesday, November 24. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church or to The Gordon Bubolz Nature Preserve in G. Allen's name.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of ThedaCare at Home and Cherry Meadows Hospice and to the many wonderful in-home care givers over the years, especially most recently Bev, Manny, Mel, Paula, Annie and Michelle.

    Obituary:
Kevin Lowell Bubolz died unexpectedly at the age of 55 on Saturday, November 1st, 2014 while enjoying the serenity of his land in Wild Rose, WI. He was born on March 23rd, 1959 and raised in Appleton, WI by his nurturing and loving parents, Lowell G. Bubolz and Deloris I. (Bauer) Bubolz. Kevin enjoyed his childhood on the farm with his two parents and four siblings, learning all about our beautiful natural world. He graduated from Hortonville High School in June 1977 and began college at University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point shortly thereafter. He spent much of his free time practicing martial arts, hunting, and enjoying the great outdoors. Kevin met his soul mate, Cindy Lee Olson, at one of his martial arts tournaments and within a few months they were engaged to be married. On June 10th, 1984, they shared their vows of marriage with family and friends in Appleton, WI. A few years later, they had two children, Emilie Katherine (1987) and Michael Kevin (1989). Kevin was truly the rock of the Bubolz family. Kevin was a true model of loyalty and truth. He was one person you could count on to keep his promises. On the outside he appeared to be quite serious, but just beneath the surface he had an incredible sense of humor. Kevin was a patient teacher to anyone who asked him for advice on how to hunt, build something, or even how to be a good parent. He always loved the companionship that his dogs provided to him throughout the years. Kevin was proud to work as a Project Risk Manager at Miron Construction, in Neenah, WI. He dreamed of retiring someday and building a home in Wild Rose where his whole family could congregate and make happy memories. His dreams were always selfless. Kevin was preceded in death by his wife and best friend, Cindy (Olson) Bubolz, and his sister, Lori Bubolz. He is survived by his two children: Emilie (Aaron) Steinmann of Appleton; and Michael (Danielle) Bubolz of Milwaukee. Kevin is also survived by his granddaughter, Cecilia Steinmann, of Appleton. Kevin is survived by his parents, Lowell and Deloris Bubolz and his siblings: Dan (Linda) Bubolz of Black Creek; Melissa (Ken) Tisch of Black Creek; and Jeff (Margaret) Bubolz of Fremont. He is survived by his close friend, Marcia Schultz of Greenleaf. Kevin's memory will live on through his adoring family and friends. A memorial service will be held at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 North Richmond Street, Appleton, WI 54914, on Thursday, November 6th, 2014 at 6:00pm, with visitation starting at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, a fund will be established to carry on Kevin's dreams in Wild Rose.

Kevin married Olson, Cynthia "Cindy" Lee 10 Jun 1984. Cynthia was born 14 May 1956; died 29 Dec 2012. [Group Sheet]
