    Obituary:
    Richard L. "Dick" Kessler, 83, Boise, Idaho, passed away on Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, following a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. His wife, Dorothy was at his side. Dick was born in Jackson, Minn., on Oct. 27, 1926, son of the late Charles and Alice M. (Kruger) Kessler. He graduated from Lake Geneva High School in 1944. After serving in the U.S. Army Air Force, he attended Michigan Technological University. He earned his Master of Automotive Engineering from the Chrysler Institute of Engineering and began a 31 year career with Chrysler Corporation.
    In 1952, Dick married Patricia Ann McCann with whom he had four children. Through an illustrious career with Chrysler, Dick and his family had the opportunity to experience life in Michigan, Argentina, Switzerland, Greece, Missouri, Delaware, and Mexico. In addition to his career, he contributed his time to many other activities, including Junior Achievement, United Way, Boy Scouts of America, Society of Automotive Engineers and Toastmasters International. In 1983, he retired to Pinehurst, N.C., to play golf and enjoy his other interests. Dick cared for Pat through an extended illness, eventually losing her in 1990. Dick then married Dorothy True in 1991. Together they had their own International adventures visiting Hungary, Spain, Portugal, England and Italy. After sharing 14 years in Pinehurst, playing golf and enjoying many friends, they relocated to Dorothy's home town of Boise, Idaho in 2006.
    Dick is survived by his wife, Dorothy; four children; two grandchildren; sisters, Janis Smith, Oshkosh; Phyllis Lynn (Greg) Sacho, De Pere.
    A memorial service to honor Dick's life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at First United Methodist Church, Cathedral of the Rockies, 717 N. 11th St., Boise, Idaho. Online condolences may be expressed to Dick's family at www.cotterfuneralhome.com.
