    Sister Norma Balza, age 87, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, died Wednesday morning, January 28, 2015 at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc.
    The former Norma Balza was born on June 11, 1927 in Kaukauna, daughter of the late Leroy R. & Lucille (Powell) Balza. She entered the Convent in 1941 and professed her vows in 1945. Sister Norma earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Holy Family College, Manitowoc, and a Masters Degree from Notre Dame University, Notre Dame, Indiana. Sister Norma served as a teacher and/or principal at St. Boniface and St. Paul, Manitowoc, St. Paul, Wrightstown, St. Mary, Brillion, St. Mary, Clarks Mills, St. Anne, Francis Creek, St. Francis, Hollandtown, St. Joseph, Waukesha, all of Wisconsin. She also served as Curriculum Library Manager at Silver Lake College, secretary to St. Rita Health Center, Manitowoc and Holy Family School, Green Bay and Sponsor Presence Representative at St. Paul Manor, Kaukauna. Sister Norma retired to St. Francis Convent and since 2010 has been a resident of St. Rita Health Center, Manitowoc. She is a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity.
    Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; one sister: Edriss Vandeyacht; two brothers and sisters-in-law: LeRoy and JoAnn Balza, Richard and Jean Balza; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Leroy and Lucille (Powell) Balza; one sister and two brothers-in-law: Dorothy and Alvin Kihlman and Lloyd Vandeyacht.
    Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Holy Family Convent Chapel, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Placid Storik, O.F.M. with burial at Holy Family Convent Cemetery, Manitowoc.
    The family will greet relatives and friends at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2015 and Saturday morning from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at Holy Family Convent Chapel.
    The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
