    Earl R. Lau, age 85, of Scenic View Villa, St. Nazianz, formerly of Rantoul Township, died Sunday, February 17, 2008, at Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers. Earl was born July 5, 1922, in the town of Brillion, son of the late Robert and Anna (Bollerly) Lau. On Oct. 18, 1947, he married Elaine Haupt in Manitowoc. Earl was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Valders. During his life, he drove truck, farmed, owned a cattle trucking route, worked for Hernke Cheese Company and drove delivery van for the New Hope Center in Chilton.
    He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Bev Lau of Reedsville; a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Donald Zahn of New Holstein; grandchildren: Doreen and Ben Schoenborn, David and Lori Zahn, all of Chilton, and Danette and Russ Wilz of Hilbert; four great-grandchildren: Tim and Ashley Schoenborn, Kendra Zahn and Lukas Wilz, two step-great-grandchildren: Brittany Mirsberger and Cody Wilz. He is further survived by a sister and brother-in-law Lucille and Herold Jaeger of Manitowoc, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine, his parents, a brother and a special friend Betty Hoefner.
    Funeral service will be held at 11:30 on Thursday, February 21, 2008, at Faith Lutheran Church in Valders. The Rev. Bill Gruenstern will officiate. Entombment will be at the Knollwood Mausoleum in Manitowoc. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. The Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion is assisting the family with arrangements.

    Wesley Warden Loose, age 72, of Chilton, died on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at his home in Chilton. He was born June 7, 1940 in the Town of Rockland, son of the late Elmer & Gertrude (Lau) Loose. He attended Trinity Lutheran School in Rantoul and after reading all of the books in the library during his high school career, he attended Fox Valley Technical College where he earned his Millwright Card.
    Wes proudly served his country in the United States Army where he was privileged to be a chauffer from the Pentagon. He was honored to have driven for General Douglas MacArthur's funeral, and President Johnson's Inauguration. Following his honorable service, Wesley married Evelyn Kratz on April 1, 1967 at Faith Lutheran Church in Valders. During his life, Wes worked for Chilton Products for 43 years, 7 months, and 22 days until he began enjoying his retirement in 1998. A short time later, he began working part time for Vande Hey Brantmeier between 2002 and 2010.
    He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Rantoul where he had been baptized and confirmed, and was a past member of St. Martin Lutheran Church. He also belonged to the Chilton VFW Post 3153. Wes was a voracious reader who enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending as much time as possible with his beloved grandchildren.
    He was a man of integrity with a true heart of gold; Wes would go out of his way to help those around him and make their lives and circumstances better. Wesley loved his life, and knew that it was truly a gift from God, which he treasured as such.
    Survivors include his wife of 45 years: Evelyn; 3 children: Kim (Andrew) Schnell of Kiel, Kevin (Kim) Loose of DePere, Kay (Nathan) Ruh of Chilton; 8 grandchildren: Amber, Bethany, Tiffany, Alexandra, Arianna, Kyler, Nicholas, Selena; 3 great grandchildren: Serenity, Lily, Piper; 2 brothers: Rodney (Vera) Loose of Colorado, Duane (Karen) Loose of Brillion; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Art Kratz of Brillion, Ralph Kratz of Manitowoc, Bernice Behnke of Brillion, Lillian Mangin of Manitowoc, Norbert Kratz of Brillion; and his beloved little dog: Foxey. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother: Darrell Loose. Funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rantoul with the Rev. Tim Benninghoff and Rev. Wayne Huebner officiating. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 am until 12:30 pm on Saturday, September 1, 2012.
    A memorial fund has been established in the name of Wesley W. Loose.

    Denver C. Lau, age 64, of Brillion, passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 3, 2009, with his family by his side after a courageous eight month battle with cancer. Denver was born on February 20, 1945, in the Town of Rockland, son of the late Clarence and Rose (Fuhrman) Lau. He married Jan Kiekhaefer on August 7, 1966. Denver worked for the Brillion Iron Works for 43 years before retiring. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, walking his dog Bailey, shaking dice with the boys, and he was an avid Brewers and Packers fan.
    Denver is survived by his wife Jan; his children: Todd (Jody) Lau, Terry (Shelly) Lau, and Tanya (Todd) Boettcher; his grandchildren: Amber Lau, Jenna Schomburg, Avery Schomburg, Max Lau, Justin Bastian and Brady and Marlie Boettcher. He is also survived by brothers: Harland (Darlyne) Lau, Jerome (Diane) Lau; sisters: Eunice (Marvin) Loppnow, Gloria (Merlin) Robley, and Sue Kiel (Bob Siehr); two sisters-in-law: Gloria Jensen and Donna (Bill) Foytik; and a brother-in-law, Gary Kiekhaefer (fiancee Ann Borchardt).
    Denver was preceded in death by his step-father, Wilmer Ahrens; mother and father-in-law, Martin (Verna) Keikhaefer; a brother-in-law, Bernie Jensen; and three nephews: Josh Moede, Rick Loppnow, and Jeffery Robley.
    Funeral services for Denver will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2009, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rantoul, with Rev. Timothy Benninghoff officiating.     He was born July 28, 1932 in Brillion, son of the late Gerhard Sr. and Rachel (Wenzel) Lau. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army stationed in Korea 1954-1956. On June 22, 1957 Junior married Carolyne Riemer. He was employed by Long Lake Cheese Factory, Schwan's, Rent-A-Truck, Saunders and Ryder. He was a member of the American Legion Post #126 as well as Trinity Lutheran Church Council and School Board, Potter Fire Department, Community Association and Potter Athletic Association. He was one of the organizers of the Potter Youth baseball program. He was also an active church usher. He enjoyed playing cards and games, fishing, spending time at the pond, watching Wisconsin athletics including high school, college and professional teams, being a part of the Potter clowns, attending the annual Gospel Fest and helping family and friends.
    He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Carolyne, their three children: Nancy (Mark) Sweere, Kirkland, WA; John (Lisa) Lau, Hilbert; Barb (Larry) Mirsberger, Hilbert. Nine grandchildren: Nathan, Jordan, Aliah and Conner Sweere; Garrett, Aaron and Halley Lau; Angela and Kylee Mirsberger. Brother: Alex (Elaine) Lau and sisters: Dorothy Koffarnus, Phyllis (Wayne) Koffarnus, Erdine (Roger) Schultz. Two brother-in-laws: Ronald Bessert and Robert Schaff.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law, a sister Emogene, brother-in-law Ralph Koffarnus, two sister-in-laws Arlene Bessert and Ann Schaff and a nephew Alan Bessert.
    Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 3, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Rantoul with the Rev. Tim Benninghoff officiating. Friends may visit at Wieting Funeral Home, Brillion, on Wednesday, October 2, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

    Dorothy A. Koffarnus, age 81, of Hilbert, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
    Dorothy was born on April 21, 1934 in the Town of Rantoul, daughter of the late Gerhard Sr. and Rachel (Wenzel) Lau. On October 20, 1956, she was united in marriage to Ralph Koffarnus at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion. He preceded her in death on August 6, 2008. Dorothy was an active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Hilbert, participating in the Ladies Aid. She was employed by Fromageries Bel for many years. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who she loved dearly. She also enjoyed playing cards and other games. Dorothy also loved cooking, baking, and gardening. She had a kind heart and was always helping others.
    She will be sadly missed by her five children: Debbie (Mike) Bursack of Menasha, Jayne (Dan)Rogney of Appleton, Jim (Mary Beth) Koffarnus of Hilbert, Julie (Greg) Pritzl of Appleton, and Bob (Sandi) Koffarnus of Brillion; grandchildren: Jared and Justin Bursack, Melissa (Andy) Fulcer, Marc and Michael Rogney, Joe Koffarnus, Adam, Rachel, Emily, and Ben Pritzl, Derek and Jake Koffarnus, and Jessica Draheim; great-grandchildren: Aubrey and Mason Fulcer; two sisters and two brothers-in-law: Phyllis (Wayne) Koffarnus and Erdine (Roger) Schultz, one brother and two sisters-in-law: Alex (Elaine) Lau and Carolyne Lau; Ralph's family: Alvin Koffarnus, Vera Smallcombe, Elaine Giese, and Kay Koffarnus; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Ralph, one brother: Gerhard Lau, Jr., one sister: Emogene Lau, father-in-law and mother-in-law: George and Helena (Lautenschlaeger) Koffarnus; five brothers-in-law: Elmer, Norbert, Rueben, Roman, and Gerald Koffarnus, and three sisters-in-law: Esther Muesegades, Mildred Helstrom, and Lucille Flemming.
    Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 43 3rd Street, in Hilbert. The Rev. Timmothy Heath will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter Lutheran Church Cemetery.
    Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:45 p.m.
