He was born to life on September 26, 1925, in Appleton, the son of the late John and Wilhelmina "Minnie" (Jansen) Bleier. Dutch was elected to Badger Boys State and was co-captain of the Boys' Basketball team. He served his country in the U.S. Marines. He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Appleton Yacht Club, and the Y.M.C.A. Dutch had many interests over the years, including being a softball pitcher, playing basketball and racquetball, swimming, golfing, biking, and woodworking.
