    HENRY SPIERINGS OF LITTLE CHUTE Five Children and Widow Survive Farmer Who Had Been Ill but Three Days
    Special to Post-Crescent Little Chute - Henry Spierings, 33, route 1, Little Chute died Thursday afternoon at his home after a three days illness. Surviving are the widow and five daughters, Elizabeth. Marie. Mildred. Florence and Grace. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 9 o'clock at St. John church. Interment will be in the Catholic cemetery.

    Obituary:
    Florence H. (Spierings) Meinhardt, 87, Appleton, crossed over to Heaven, with the help of her Angels on July 15, 2012 at a local nursing home. Florence was born on April 14, 1925 in Vandenbroeck WI to the late Henry and Nellie (Lamers) Spierings. On May 22, 1948 she married Leroy Meinhardt and they enjoyed over 64 years together. On her life's journey she was a waitress, worked in the kitchen at Lawrence University, was a Boy Scout Leader and a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary and a Women's Bowling League for over 30 years, often scoring 200 or more. She was a loving mother who made our house a home with her warmth. Her greatest happiness came from baking, celebrating all the holidays, time with friends and family, being outside and lending a hand wherever needed. In her later years, her lifelong joy of singing and dancing brought happiness to many hearts and brightened many days.
    She is survived by her husband Leroy, children Nancy (Daryl) Recker, Judy (Allen) Sigmund and David Meinhardt, grandchildren, Aaron (special friend Niki), Britney and Wylee, daughter-in-law Wendy Meinhardt as well as many other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Krystal and 4 sisters.
    A celebration of Florence's life will be held on Thursday from 3-7 pm at Valley Funeral Home in Appleton. Memorial Service at the funeral home at 7:00 pm.
    We wish to thank all the care givers at Colony Oaks for all the kindness and care they gave to Florence.

    Kathleen N. Hafeman, 68, passed away after a brief illness and surrounded by family on Monday, January 12, 2015, leaving a legacy of laughter and love. She was born on October 29, 1946, in Appleton to the late Raymond and Mildred (Spierings) St. Cyr and worked selflessly to make memories for everyone she encountered, turning the ordinary into the extraordinary. For those of you who shared your life with Kathy, you know that Jesus stands at the gates of heaven with open arms, saying, "Well done, good and faithful servant! Come and share your master's happiness!" because Kathy's steadfast, immovable work provided comfort for all, regardless of her role as nurse, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, or neighbor. Her rewards came through lightening the loads of others with laughter, love, and a load of laundry. Her quick wit, spunky sense of humor, endless talkativeness, sing-along songs, and playful words earned her the nickname G-ma Chatty. As you pack away your tree skirts, wrap up in your afghans, and don your slippers, you will be reminded of Kathy's generosity of spirit as she lived Jesus' words, "It is more blessed to give than to receive." Kathleen will be greatly missed by her family who dearly loved her. She is survived by her husband, Wayne; children, Eric (Brenda) Borchardt, Kerry Hackbarth and Sarah (Bob) Pennewell; grandchildren, Emma, Jack and Katie Borchardt, Olivia Hackbarth, Alex and Madison Dollevoet and Ryan Pennewell; brother, Mike (Jill) St. Cyr; sisters, Carol Nunenkamp, Jan (Jim) Redlich and Chris (Pat) St.Cyr-Poehls, mother-in-law, Florence Hafeman; step-daughter, Lori (Will) Chase, step-granddaughter, Avery Chase; brothers-in-law, Dean (Ellen) Hafeman and Don Hafeman; sisters-in-law, Cheryl (Bill) Knoespel and Pat (Dick) Drews; as well as many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. In addition to her parents, Kathleen is preceded in death by her brother, Ken St. Cyr and her father-in-law, Harvey Hafeman. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 10am to the time of funeral service at 12pm at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main Street, Little Chute) with Annette Wiesner officiating.
