    Oscar was the oldest (NOT CORRECT) of three children born to Catherine (Zaum) and John Peter Loos. He married his first wife, Louisa Elizabeth Timm, on November 22, 1902 in Ellington, WI. Together they had four children: Herbert Richard, Harry, Hilda Margaret and Walter August. Sadly, Louisa died five days after giving birth to Walter in 1910. On May 17, 1913 Oscar remarried Auguste Bertha Witt (nee Belling), a widow with one son, Marvin Herman Witt. "Gustie" and Oscar had four children of their own: Gertrude Mary, Willard, Oscar William, Jr. and Earl Henry. Oscar, Jr. was the only one to make it to adulthood; Gerturde died of pneumonia at age 8; Willard died of "la grippe" at 5 months and Earl died at only 3 months of age. Oscar was a successful farmer and he and Gustie lived out their lives enjoying their rural life.

    Bernice E. Smith, age 90, Shiocton, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015. She was born on June 12, 1924, in the Town of Ellington, daughter of the late Edward
    and Ida (Jahnke) Loos. She was united in marriage to Roy Smith in 1965. He preceded her in death in 1999. Bernice worked at the Hortonville Toy Factory for 18 years; then moved to West Bend. She and her husband retired and move to Shawano. Upon Roy's death Bernice moved back to Shiocton to be closer to family and friends.
    She is survived by her daughter Jeanni Suprise, Shiocton; five grandchildren: Mandy (Shane) Ebben; Stephanie Suprise (fiancé George); Donna Miracle, Shelly Loos and Edward Loos, and a daughter-in-law, Maryann Loos. She is further survived by great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
    Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Richard Loos, son-in-law, Richard Suprise, grandson, JR Loos, four brothers: Clarence, Alvin, Roland, and Bill and three sisters, Ruth, Gladys and Eunice.
    Funeral services for Bernice will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Borchardt Moder Funeral Home, Shiocton with Sr. Pauline Feiner officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will be in the Appleton Highland Memorial Park.
    The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Jack Anderson and his team and Heartland Hospice for the excellent care given to Bernice in her final days.

    Gladys L. Christian, age 82, New London, died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 13, 2013. Gladys was born on January 27, 1931, in the Town of Ellington, daughter of the late Edward and Ida (Janke) Loos. She was married to Roger Christian on April 9, 1949, in New London. He preceded her in death in 2000. Gladys worked at Dean Foods for 20 years. She was an avid motorcyclist with her husband Roger.
    She is survived by her daughters, Lisa (Vince) Urban, Lynn (Bill) Stiebs, and Debra (Walter) Blank, all of New London; sons: Kevin (Kelly), Minnesota; Ken (Terri), Hortonville; David (very special friend, Jamie), New London, Jim (LaRaine), New London, Larry (Patti), New London and Denny (Cindy), Stephensville. A sister, Bernice Smith, Shiocton, sister-in-law, Phyllis Klinger. Eighteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son, Jerry, grandson, Joey,4 brothers: Roland, Alvin, Wilbert, Clarence Loos, 2 sisters, Ruth Lider, and Eunice King.
    Funeral services for Gladys will be held on Monday, June 17, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, New London. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the Hortonville Union Cemetery.

    Obituary:
    Lois M. Lambie, 81, passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2016 at American Grand Assisted Living in Kaukauna. Lois was born on April 2, 1934 to Ervin and Marie (Loos) Bohnsack in Appleton. She was united in marriage to Norman Lambie in July 1957 and he preceded her in death in 1966. In her younger years she worked on a farm and later she worked as a switchboard operator at St. Elizabeth Hospital for 20 years until her retirement. Lois was very crafty and enjoyed knitting, needlepoint and other crafts. She enjoyed trips to Door County, Waupaca, canoeing, golfing and animals. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and those times will always be treasured. Lois was a member of Appleton Medical Center Auxillary and crafts.
    Lois is survived by her two daughters; Lori Ernst, Ginny (Dan) Koeppl, grandchildren; Sarah Ernst, Dan Ernst, Kari (fiancée Ryan Taylor) Koeppl, Juliet (Christopher) Bogard, Martin (Brooke) Koeppl, great grandchildren; Aidan and Cora Bogard, Iria, Rin, and Inara Koeppl, her dear friend of 38 years, Mary Jane Van Remortel, brother-in-law; Don Leith, a niece, Bonny (Oscar) Espanol and their son Alex, her grand puppies, other relatives and friends. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister Joyce Leith, a son-in-law, Dean Ernst, and a nephew Scott Leith.
    The memorial service for Lois will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 3:00 PM at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME TRI COUNTY CHAPEL, 1592 Oneida St. A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.

    She is survived by her loving husband, Gordon Kronberg, Jeffersonville, IN; a son, Mark Kronberg (Elaine), Marion, IN; four daughters, Linda Allsup (Brice), Macon, MS; Lisa Ganaway (Rick), Harlan, IN; Caryn Snider (Rex), Fremont, IN; Cynthia Adams (Stephen), Brownsburg, IN; a brother, Gerald Loos (Lois), Greenville, WI; a sister, Audrey Heimmerman, Hortonville, WI; nine grandchildren, Duane, Jeremy, Christopher, Seth, Katie, Calynn, Kaden, Karissa, Samuel; and one great-grandson.

    Bruce James Knaack, age 68, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, February 17, 2014 with his family and friends at his side. He fought a valiant battle against a devastating disease, ALS, diagnosed in March of 2013. Bruce was born to the late Fred and Hilda Knaack on May 15, 1945 in Appleton. He graduated from Appleton High School. He served in the US Army and US Army Reserves with his good friend, Harry "Porky" Hameister. On August 22, 1970 he married the love of his life, Susan Laux in Appleton. Bruce worked at Lawrence University for 41 years as the manager of the Central Services department. Bruce loved photography as well as maintaining his aquarium. He was also very proud of his yard and flowers that he meticulously maintained for over 30 years. Bruce enjoyed the outdoors, especially his fishing trips up north with Dick and Bob. While up north, he also liked ATV riding and spending time at the Walleye Lodge and Schuh's. Bruce and Sue looked forward to traveling together and the two liked planning trips to many National and State parks around the country. The two always reserved Thursday nights as their date night with friends at Dick and Joan's. Bruce was an avid Packer fan and faithfully attended games with Turk for over 30 years. He was also a Brewer fan and looked forward to watching many ball games on TV. Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Susan Knaack; daughters: Dawn Knaack, Dana Knaack and her good friend Buck Rosenberg; granddaughter: Britney Knaack; sister: Beverly (Marvin) Babler; brothers-in-law: Dick (Kim) Laux, Jim Laux, Larry Turkow and Jim Derks; along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents-in-law: Richard and Sylvia Laux; sisters-in-law; Joyce Turkow and Marlene Derks. A funeral service for Bruce will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 21, 2014 at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME TRI COUNTY CHAPEL (1592 Oneida St., Menasha). In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Bruce's name.     Richard C. "Dick" Loos, age 68, of Kewaskum, passed away at Cedar Community on Friday, May 25, 2012, surrounded by his family. He was born on July 9, 1943, in New London, the son of Bernice Smith, and on June 20, 1980, he was united in marriage to Mary Ann (Koenings) at St. Michaels Catholic Church in St. Michaels.
    Richard will fondly be remembered for his love of riding his scooter, drinking iced water with a long spoon, being an avid fishermen and hunter. Richard and Mary Ann owned and operated Dick and Mary Ann's Bar in St. Michaels for 11 years. Richard was also a devoted truck driver for 30 years.
    Those Richard leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 31 years, Mary Ann; their son, Richard W. Loos "Jr" of Kewaskum; also survived by three children, Edward Loos of Red Granite, Donna Miracle of Wauka and Shelly Dickson of Red Granite; seven grandchildren, Ashley, Michael, Cody, Tearsa, Dylan, Austin and Karleigh; two great grandchildren; his mother, Bernice Smith of Shiocton; a sister Jean (Richard) Suprise of Shiocton; a sister-in-law Fran (Wayne) Stoffel of West Bend; a brother-in-law Thomas (Patsy) Koenings; two special nieces Mandy (Shane) Ebben and Stephanie (fiancée George Roberts) Suprise both of Shiocton; a special friend Donnie Ott of Eden, other relatives and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his step-father, Roy Smith.
    Funeral Services for Richard will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at the Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum. Rev. Greg Laska will officiate and burial will follow in St. Michael's Catholic Church Cemetery.
