    Micke, Marion (14 FEB 1946)
A very lovely double ring wedding ceremony was performed when Miss Marion Micke, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Micke of this village (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.) became the bride of Francis Culbert of Chippewa Falls, on Thursday, Feb. 14, 1946, Valentine's Day, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Thorp, Wis., officiated by Rev. Arnold M. Muckerheide.
The bride was charming in a gown of frosted taffeta with a sweetheart neckline, long sleeves which came to a point over the wrist and full skirt ending in a train. Her fingertip veil fell from a pearl beaded tiara. Her jewelry was a gold necklace with Ruby settings, a gift of the groom. She carried a bouquet of red roses, white carnations and sweet peas.
Miss Lillian Teclaw, a friend of the bride, acted as maid of honor and was gowned in a dress of white frosted rayon organdy with accessories to match, wearing a white blusher and carrying a heart shaped bouquet of red and white carnations and sweet peas.
Ring bearers were Reinhold and Ronald Benzschawel, twin nephews of the bride, ascending the aisle carrying white heart shaped pillows bearing the rings tied with red bows. They were dressed in white suits of nylon serge with red rose bud boutonnieres.
The groom and best man July Swan, brother-in-law of the groom, were dressed in blue suits with white carnation boutonnieres.
The bride's mother wore a black dress and a white carnation corsage. The groom's mother wore a gray print dress with a white carnation corsage.
A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents to about fifty guests.
The bride is a graduate of the Thorp High School and has been employed at the Farmers Store here as head clerk of the dry goods department for the past four years. The groom is an ex-service man and is employed at the National Pressure Cooker Co. at Eau Claire.
The newly married couple went on a honeymoon trip to Minneapolis via the "400" from Eau Claire.
