Gerke, Dorothy C.Dorothy C. Gerke, 75, De Pere, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2002 at ManorCare We st in Green Bay. She was born Aug. 5, 1927 in Green Bay, daughter of the l ate Martin and Nellie (Coonen) Vissers. On June 18, 1949 she married Hen ry “Hank” Gerke in De Pere. He preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 1988. Dor othy was employed by the Lee Store in De Pere, where she worked for 30 yea rs. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Community, De Pere.She is survived by one daughter, Barbara (Johnnie) Gray, De Pere; three gr andchildren, Todd R. (Mary) Danen, Green Bay; Rachel Gray, Green Bay; a nd John Henry Gray, De Pere; three great-grandchildren, Jackson Lee Gra y, Alec Michael Danen, and Michael Douglas Gray; brothers and sisters, How ard (Marilyn) Vissers, De Pere; Don (Ann) Vissers, De Pere; Betty Clanc y, Greenleaf; Ken (Annie) Vissers, De Pere; four brothers-in-law, Carl (Ro semary) Gerke, De Pere; Bob (Carol) Gerke, De Pere; Andy Gerke, De Pere; a nd Ray Gerke, De Pere; and one sister-in-law, Nancy Gerke, De Pere.Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Patric ia Gerke; a grandchild, Krista Gray; and one brother, Harold.Family and friends may call Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003 from 10 to 11 a.m. at S t. Mary Catholic Community, Pope John the XXIII Circle, off Sportsman Driv e, Town of Ledgeview. Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursd ay at church with the Rev. John H. Harper officiating. Interment wi ll be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, De Pere. Cotter Funeral Home, De Pere, is assisting the family.From walking throughout the city of De Pere, socializing and dining with h er many friends and family members, and the love of music and travel... Do rothy had a passion for life. She will be sadly missed by all. Special tha nks to the staff at ManorCare-Arcadia Unit, and Betty Speaker for her ca re and watchful eye over Dorothy throughout the years.
