Obituary:
Stark, Arthur William Arthur William Stark,age 79, of Appleton, was called to his eternal ho me on Sunday, October 3, 2004 following a courageous battle with cancer. A rt left this world surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Grand C hute on November 7, 1924 to the late Arthur H. and Mary (Korth) Star k. On June 7, 1947 he married Arlene Springstroh and they shared 57 wonder ful years. Art was an active member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Appl eton, as well as a strong supporter of Fox Valley Lutheran High Schoo l. As a carpenter and the founder of Stark Construction, he was also a mem ber of the VHBA. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Arlene; his son: David (Vicki) Sta rk of Appleton; his daughter: Beverly (John) Schroeder of Courtland, MN; h is grandchildren: Melissa, Timothy, and Jason (fiance Michele Dammann) Sch roeder; Andrew, Adam (Jamie), and Aaron (special friend Nicki Alstad) Star k. He is further survived by his brothers and sisters-in law: Ervin (Flore nce) Springstroh, Erma (Milton) Fischer, Ella Springstroh, and Marvilin Sp ringstroh, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Lucil le (Abe) Bessett; his father and mother-in-law: Robert (Ella) Springstro h; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Herbert, Norbert (Lucille), Gilbert, W ilbert, Harold (Edna) Springstroh; and Leona (Roy) Sievert. Funeral services for Mr. Stark will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Octob er 6, 2004 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 302 N. Morrison Stre et, Appleton, with Pastor Kenneth Frey officiating. Visitation will be he ld Tuesday, October 5 (TONIGHT) at the Valley Funeral Home from 5 unt il 8 p.m., and also at the church for one hour before the funeral servic e. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flower s, a memorial fund has been established in Art's name for St. Paul's Luthe ran Church and for Fox Valley Lutheran High School.
