Rick Guyette, 73, Shiocton, passed away peacefully March 19 in Sun City, AZ, with close friends by his side. He was born June 21, 1937, in Appleton WI, to George and Mabel (Bradley) Guyette. Dick married the love of his life, MaryAnn, on Feb. 25 1961. Dick drove over the road trucks most of his life. One could only imagine how many miles he's seen. For six great years in the early '80s, Dick and MaryAnn owned and ran Dick's Place tavern and only closed it because Dick wanted to drive truck again. Dick enjoyed the outdoors, deer hunting, fishing, and taking care of the yard as long as the mower had a seat. Dick was a good cook and an even better story teller. When he retired they became snow birds spending most winters in Arizona with good friends they met in their travels and the summers in Leeman, WI with family and friends at Rivers Edge Campgrounds, where he said, something was always going on.
Dick is survived by sons; Wayne (Paula), Rodney (Nicole), Rick (Lynn); grandchildren; Mitchell, Mason, Jacob, Caroline, Cody, and Colton; sisters; Dolly (Elroy) Thoma, Nancy (Charles) Wenborg, Joy (Curley) Jansen, DeeDee (George) Wendt, and Georgia (Dan) Schmidt ; brothers Leo Guyette and Gary (Mary Rose) Guyette. Further survived by many nieces and nephews and many beloved friends.
Preceding him in death is daughter Peggy, sisters Lorraine, Lucille and Shirley; his brothers Robert and Roger.
As for Dick's wishes there will be no service. The family will celebrate his life this June 18 at his summer home.
A special thanks to Sandy Webb for all your needed help in this difficult time and thanks to everyone else for your support.
Dad will be greatly missed. Hope you and mom are catching some big fish. We love you and we will keep you in our hearts forever.
