    Obituary:
Margaret Ann Petit, age 88, died peacefully on Friday, August 2, 2013 at Rennes Health Care Center of Appleton. She was born March 8, 1925 in the Town of Belle Plaine, Shawano County, to the late Michael and Anna (Dillenberg) Muraski. Margaret graduated from Shawano High School and on May 30, 1950, she married Vernon Petit in Shawano. Together, they moved to Kentucky where they lived while Vernon served in the military. In the 1950's, they relocated to Appleton Wisconsin where they started the large family that Vernon and Margaret dearly wanted. Margaret's family was her pride and joy. She will miss them as they will miss her. Margaret was a homemaker, dedicated to her family and grandchildren as well as a faithful member of St. Mary's Parish, Appleton. She would greet everyone with a warm smile, which will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her five sons, Phillip (Julie Ann), Noel (Sue), Gregory (Nancy), and Rock (Robbin), all of Appleton; Dominic (Niki), Green Bay; four daughters, Yvonne (Thomas) Vandenberg, Rhinelander; Julie Petit, Appleton; Michele Remter, Shiocton and Annette Petit, Appleton; a daughter-in-law, Mary Petit, Madison; 14 grandchildren; David, Graham, Brooklyn, Andrew, Grayson, Brielle, Alain, Lucien, Samantha, Cassandra and Vincent Petit, Michael Vandenberg, Eric Remter and Jennifer Mocine, and four great-grandchildren. Margaret is further survived by three sisters, Alice Kugel, Bonduel; Joan Muraski, Shawano; Catheryn Ziemmer, Shawano; and two sisters-in-law, Lois and Ann Petit, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon in 1999, a son Chris, her parents and a sister, Delores (Clarence) Breitenfeldt.
A funeral mass for Margaret will be held 11:00 AM Monday, August 5, 2013, at St. Mary Parish, 312 South State Street, Appleton, Rev. Jim Leary, OFM Cap. officiating. Margaret's family will receive relatives and friends at Valley Funeral Home, from 4-7:00 PM Sunday, August 4, 2013 and again, at the church on Monday from 10 AM until the time of service. Burial will be in Most Precious Blood Cemetery, New London.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Margaret's name has been established.
Margaret's family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Rennes Health Care for their care and compassion for Margaret.
