    Thomas J."Tom" DeDecker, Appleton, age 68, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital on Saturday, May 7, 2011. He was born in Appleton on June 23, 1942, the son of the late Walter and Cecilia (White) DeDecker. Tom was proud to serve in the United States Navy. He worked for the U.W. System as a Power Engineer and had an interest in automobiles. Tom will be remembered for his social nature.
    Tom is survived by his children: Julie (Tom) Vakos, Racine; Jeff DeDecker, Fullerton, CA; granddaughter, Alexia Kach; brother, Michael DeDecker, Ohio; sisters: Myrna (Marvin) Griesbach, Appleton; Sue (Ned) Wittmann, Kimberly; brother-in-law, Jim Fuerst; and former wife, Cherilyn DeDecker.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joseph DeDecker; sister, Barb Fuerst; infant brother, Patrick DeDecker; infant sister, Carolyn DeDecker; and former wife, Joyce DeDecker.
    Burial with military honors will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2011 in Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, King, WI.
    The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the excellent nursing staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital for their compassionate care.

    Barbara J. "Barb" Fuerst, Appleton, 57, passed away Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, at her home. Barb was born Feb. 9, 1950, in Appleton, the daughter of Walter and Cecilia (White) DeDecker. She graduated from Appleton West High School. On Nov. 7, 1970, Barb was united in marriage to James "Jim" Fuerst, at St. Therese Catholic Church, and together they were blessed with three children, Steve, Michael and Tammy. She was a terrific mother, and enjoyed her flowers, shopping and her dogs, Molly, Winnie, and Katie.
    Barb is survived by her husband, Jim; her children, Steve Fuerst, Michael (Danielle) Fuerst, and their daughter, Enya, and their expectant twin daughter and son; and Tammy (William) Woulf, all of Appleton; her sisters and brothers, Myrna (Marvin) Griesbach, Appleton; Thomas DeDecker, Menasha; Michael DeDecker, Ohio and Sue (Ned) Wittman, Kimberly.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Joseph, and infant sister, Carolyn.
    The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 312 South State Street, with Fr. Michael O'Rourke as celebrant. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday until the time of mass directly at the church. She will be laid to rest in Appleton Highland Memorial Park. A memorial fund is being established in Barb's name.
    The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to Dr. Mark Hermans and the staff of Theda Care at Home Hospice for their care given to Barb.
