Obituary:
Florence H. Van Zummeren, Appleton, age 89, passed away on Sunday morning, February 11, 2007, at her daughter's home. She was born on June 9, 1917, in Appleton to the late Edward and Elizabeth (Kitzinger) Pleier. On October 24, 1938, she married Irving Van Zummeren and they shared 50 wonderful years before he preceded her in death on December 26, 1988. Florence was employed one time at Zwicker Knitting Mill and Tastee Bakery. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Florence enjoyed reading, playing cards, especially beating Chuck at Sheepshead, Friday Night Fish Fries at the Legion Club or Darboy Club with the ladies, feeding chipmunks up north, boating and fishing with her husband Irv during what she called, "The Good Years."
She will be sadly missed by her children: Alice (Terry) Grogan, Manitowoc; Jean (Dan) Eggert, Alamogordo, NM; Mary Lou (Dennis) Vice, Appleton; Peg (Chuck) Monn, Appleton; Joe (Pat) Van Zummeren, Waupaca; Dave (Olivia) Van Zummeren, Appleton; Jim (Pat) Van Zummeren, Stafford, VA; Irv (Maggi) Van Zummeren, Swansea, IL; 24 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She is further survived by her sisters: Lorraine Hermsen, Green Bay; Esther Schnese, Kimberly; sister-in-law, Bess Pleier, Appleton; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and her beloved husband, Irv, she was preceded in death by her brother, Norman Pleier; sister and brother-in-law, Marie (Ken) Day; brother-in-law Marvin Schnese.
Funeral services for Florence will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church (410 West Lawrence Street), with Father Larry Abler officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 13, 2007, (Tonight) from 4 until 8 p.m. and again on Wednesday morning from 9:30 until the time of mass directly at church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Appleton.

Obituary:
Joseph E. Van Zummeren, age 76, of Waupaca, WI passed away on Friday, January 1, 2016 at his residence. Joe was born in Appleton on December 9, 1939, the son of the late Irv and Florence (Pleier) Van Zummeren. On July 15, 1961, Joe married Patricia Murphy in Appleton. He worked for over 35 years for the Red Owl Grocery Stores. He then worked for Badger Metals, Inc. in sales for 20 years, retiring in 2014. Joe was a US Army veteran and a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, Waupaca.

Joe is survived by his wife: Patricia Van Zummeren, Waupaca; his children: Judy (Gary) Johnson, Onalaska, WI; Jeff (Joni) Van Zummeren, Medina, OH and Jim (Amy) Van Zummeren, Belle Plaine, MN; his 6 grandchildren: Morgan (Adam); Mallory; Jillian; Jonathan; Piper & Sam; his siblings: Dave (Joy) Van Zummeren, Sheybogan, WI; Alice (Terry) Grogan, Shawano, WI; Mary Lou (Dennis) Vice, Appleton, WI; Jim (Pat) Van Zummeren, Stafford, VA; Jeanne (Dan) Eggert, Alamagordo, NM; Margaret "Peg" (Charles) Monn, Gillette, WI; Irving (Maggi) Van Zummeren, Swansea, IL and also many nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 11 AM at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, Waupaca with Father David Pleier, celebrant. Burial will follow in the Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, King, Wisconsin. Visitation will be on Wednesday evening from 4 to 8 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca and also on Thursday morning from 10 AM until the time of mass at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials greatly appreciated to the St. Mary Magdalene New Building Fund.
