Rippl, DonaDonald J. Rippl, age 79, of Wautoma, formerly of Menasha, passed away at h ome early Tuesday morning February 14, 2006. Donald was born September 1 9, 1926, the son of Carl and Ursula (Walbrun) Rippl. He married Celine Han egraaf on May 25, 1948, in Little Chute, WI. She preceded him in dea th on February 19, 1999. He then married Virginia Rick of Wautoma on Apr il 9, 2000, in Mesa, Arizona.Donald was born and raised in Menasha. He served in the Navy Air Corps whe re he received a Purple Heart for his brave service. Donald was a tailor a nd clothier in Menasha where he owned and operated The Clothes Shop for ov er 30 years.He was a past president of the Menasha Rotary Club as well as a memb er of the Knights of Columbus, Menasha Elks Club and American Legion. Dona ld was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Menasha and St. Joseph Ca tholic Church in Wautoma. He was an avid golfer and loved to spend time wi th his family and friends.He is survived by his wife, Virginia; his six children: Steven (Beverly) R ippl of Mequon; Susan (Peter) Strebe, of Mesa, AZ; Scott Rippl of Pauma Va lley, CA; Mary (Timothy) Kerrigan of Colgate, WI; Carl (Beth) Rippl of App leton; and John (Barbara) Rippl of Bella Vista, AR; his five step-childre n: Martin Hird of Madison; Victoria Sebastian of Chicago, IL; Jane Mitt on of Glen Ellyn, IL; Teri Keeler of Madison; and Forest Rick of Appleto n; and 17 grandchildren, and step-grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ce line and his sister, Gertrude Rippl.A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 24 at St. M ary's Catholic Church in Menasha with Fr. Paul Radetski officiating. Visit ation will be at the church on Friday, February 24, from 10 a.m. until t he time of services. His final place of rest will be at St. Mary's Cathol ic Cemetery in Menasha.In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Agnes Hospice Hope, 114 North Pearl S treet, Berlin, Wisconsin 54923 are appreciated.
