    Milis, David J. "M r. Pike"Dave Milis, age 48, Appleton, died peacefully at home, surrounded by his l oving family on Tuesday, January 17, 2006, following a short but courageo us battle with cancer. Dave was born in Appleton on March 19, 1957, s on of the late Charles Milis and JoAnn (Naumann) Milis. On September 16, 1 988, he married the former Robin Romenesko in Appleton; she survives. Da ve was a loving and caring husband and father who knew how to make everyo ne feel special.He was a faithful member of Mount Calvary Ev. Lutheran Church and was a 19 76 graduate of the Kimberly High School. For the past 25 years, he had be en employed as a surveyor for the city of Appleton. Dave lived each d ay of his life to the fullest. He enjoyed nature and all the beauty that t he Lord has provided. His greatest pleasures included spending time with f amily and friends while hunting, fishing, caring for his apple orchard, a nd watching his children participate in competitive sports. Dave was a gre at story teller and always knew how to put a smile on everyone's face. Ma ny hours were spent smiling and laughing with family and friends at his la nd in Cecil and at the cottage on Archibald Lake.He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Robin (Romenesko) Milis of Appleto n; three children: Dylan, Molly, and Sydnee Milis, all at home; his mothe r, JoAnn Milis Van Cuyk of Kimberly; a brother, Charles (Tricia ) Mil is of Cecil; five sisters: Debbie (Marv) Broslavick of New London; Diane ( James) Roberts of Appleton; Cheryl (Jim) Brockman of Little Chute; Miche le (Joe) Fernandez of Darboy; and Lisa (Jeff) Miron of Freedom. Other surv ivors include Robin's parents: Marvin and Sheila (Ebben) Romenesko of Darb oy; a brother-in-law, Brad (Jill) Romenesko of Marinette; six sisters-in-l aw: Lynn Palubicki of Green Bay; Lisa Romenesko of Texas; Tammy (Kurt) Zac harias of Hudson; Kim (Jeff) Schuhart of Darboy; and Kelly (Mark) Coo ke of Texas; numerous nieces and nephews: Jenny, Andrea, and Jolene Mili s, Wendy (Troy) Van Nuland, Heather Treptow, Katie and Ryan Roberts, Jas on Brockman, Jonathan Fernandez, Brendan and Theron Miron, Jordan Palubick i, Hannah, Taylor, and Jake Romenesko, Quinn and Griffin Zacharias, and Sa muel and Grace Schuhart.
    He was preceded in death by his father, Charles in 1992.The Christian Funeral for Dave will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Janua ry 20, 2006 at MOUNT CALVARY EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, N8278 Coop Road in the t own of Harrison with Rev. Virgil Hanson officiating. Friends may call at t he funeral home on Thursday (TODAY) from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and aga in at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service.In lieu of sending flowers, the family would like to suggest that you atte nd a benefit event at 7 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2006 at Waverly Bea ch in Menasha.
