    Stanley V. Kabat, 88, Greenleaf, died peacefully Saturday, December 29, 2007, at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna. Stanley was born July 20, 1919, in the Town of Wrightstown to Frank and Caroline (Tikalsky) Kabat. He married Florence Nies June 1, 1943, at St. John Catholic Church, Morrison. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Greenleaf, all his life.
    Stanley was a cheese maker and a farmer. He also worked at Brillion Iron Works and retired in 1983. He was a member of St. Mary's Holy Name Society and Catholic Knights Branch 189. His greatest joys were his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
    He is survived by his wife, Florence (Nies) and 12 children: Kenneth (Betty) Kabat, Greenleaf; Mary Clare (Gary) Mommaerts, Greenleaf; Cyril (Lois) Kabat, Arlington Heights, IL; Janice (John) Keyzer, Green Bay; Jerome (Marilyn) Kabat, Greenleaf; Luella (Gary) Van Asten, Kaukauna; Catherine (Bob) Janda, Skanee, MI; James (Karen) Kabat, Sussex; Stanley J. (Terri) Kabat, Bettendorf, IA; Roseanne (Tim) Prunty, Antigo; Theresa (Dean) Swoboda, De Pere; Jane (Greg) Kleineschay, De Pere, 29 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sisters: Leona Foytik, Rosella (Joe) Nies; sister-in-law, Ruth Kabat, brother-in-law, Jerry Nies, sister-in-law, Ellen (Glen) Farrell, sister-in-law, Lucy Nies and numerous nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by daughters: Margaret Ann and her twin sister, a grandson, Tommy Mommaerts, brothers and sisters: Millie and El DeCleene, Father Cyril Kabat, Ceil and Wally Krautkramer, Lan Kabat, Bernadine Nies, sisters and brothers-in-law, Marie (Clarence) Diny, Bill Nies, Bob (Dorothy) Nies, Bernard Nies, Frank Foytik, nieces and nephews: Frank Foytik Jr., Pauline Foytik, Ruth Krautkramer and Howard DeCleene.
    Friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth St., De Pere, after 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 1, 2008. Prayer service at 8:00 p.m. to close the evening. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Greenleaf with the Reverend Father Bob Kabat and Monsignor John Schuh officiating.
