LeRoy Oscar Kerns died. His brief o bituary was published Wednesday 24 February 1897 in the Enid Daily Wav e, p 3:
Mr. L. O. Kerns, who lived with his family, consisting of a wife and fo ur children, ranging from 12 to 3 years old, on the northwest 22-24- 8, in Cheochee township, died Saturday evening at 5 o'clock, of ulcerati on of the stomach, after a few days of intense suffering. He was 41 yea rs of age; was buried in the Coldwater church cemetery.

Leroy married Diederich, Mary Ann Aft 1875. Mary (daughter of Diederich, John and Classen, Anna) was born 20 Jan 1851, Lawrence, Brown, Wisconsin, USA; died 25 Aug 1937; was buried , Hugoton Cemetery, Hugoton, Kansas. [Group Sheet]
