Former area couple dies in mountain crash
TELLURIDE, Colo. -- A former Wrightstown couple died when the Jeep they were riding along a treacherous mountain pass left the road and tumbled 600 feet Tuesday. The couple, Vern Huntington and Susan Agen Huntington, both 50, of St. Peters, Mo., died after the vehicle rolled from Black Bear Pass, a spokesman for the San Miguel County Sheriff's Office said Friday. The couple were vacationing in the San Juan Mountains.
Black Bear Pass, elevation 12,800 feet, is a rocky mountain trail open to motorized off-road vehicles only in the summer months.
