Platteville/AppletonFormerly of Appleton, age 90, died Sunday, May 13, 2001, at her home in Pl atteville. She was born November 17, 1910, in St. Oedenrode, Holland, t he daughter of Johannes and Geertruda (Van Dinter) Vervoort. She liv ed in the United States since 1957. She was married to Johannes Benke rs on August 25, 1942. He preceded her in death after 35 years of marriag e. She taught elementary school in Holland for 10 years. She was a memb er of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton. She loved crocheting, knitti ng, quilting, gardening, and she loved playing cards. She is survived by f our children, John (Kris) Benkers, Belmont; Kees (Lynda) Benkers, Auror a, Colorado; Gertrude (Norm) Dittsworth, Palmer, Alaska; Ineke Benkers, An chorage, Alaska; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a siste r, Truus Borghans, Holland. Besides her husband and her parents, she was p receded in death by four sisters, Sister Franscisca, Geardina Voets, Sist er Geertruda, Cornelia Stapelbroek; three brothers, Petrus, Henricus, a nd Adriaan Vervoot. Services will be 7 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2001, at t he Bendorf Funeral Home, Platteville. Friends may call from 3 p.m. until t he time of the service at the Bendorf Funeral Home. Burial will be at S t. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Appleton. The Bendorf Funeral Home is servi ng the family
